Live from Crawford, Texas, it's the George and Tony show.
Will George slap Bill and Yasser around again like he did last night? Will Tony come off as George's toy poodle? Will the press be their usual boorish selves ? Is Helen Thomas there ?
The answer to these and other questions will be answered at Noon eastern time.
I don't necessarily see America as the world cop but I take it you do and you think we shouldn't be. So, if not us, then who ? France ? Turkey ? How about North Korea ? China ? Pick one.
What the h*ll? WAIT, I GOT IT. You are AL Gore. Only Al Gore can speak like this. Yes, that's it. Only Al Gore can make such a mockery of a statement such as this.
Oh, BTW, ohioWfan is NOT a NWO wannabe. Guess you got tired of the "world's policeman" cliche, unless of course, we first declare war. So, now it's back to the NWO.
Sorry, Charlie...you have wasted WAAAAY too much of my time. See ya.
Thanks for debating with me.
As I go, I hope to return later and see information from you, please:
I can not make any connection between any loss of individual liberty and the war on terror.
Yes, temporary concessions have to be made as long as bomb throwing lunatics are scurrying around the world trying to launch disintegrating bodies into the air, but that is not an effect of the war on terror, it is the CAUSE. If you decry the abridgement of the human right not to be torn asunder and flung flaming to the four winds, it would appear you argue in favor of prosecuting the war on terror to an early and complete victory.
So, how can you assert that we lose one whit of individual liberty as a consequence of denying terrorists access to the women and children they are intent upon slaughtering?
Cause that dog dont hunt, unless some glaring truth escapes me.
Thanks
Why does America have to take charge? Why does America have to play world cop?
At what cost in the lives of IDF soldiers, and both Israeli and Palestinian civlians?
Sadly, perhaps at great cost. But the value of a firm US ally to Israel makes the risk worth it. Every idea I have heard is a long shot, and Bush's ideas sound as likely to work or even more likely than other options. If it works, lives will be spared. If it fails because of Palestinian duplicity, then a few more people will wake up (although many will remain in denial), and the necessary efforts to stop their behavior (and again save lives on all sides in the long run) can proceed.
I just ended up becoming so frustrated that I decided to go play Sims vacation for awhile instead...
Anyway...it was nice to come back and see some supportive posts
Aren't you a hoot. Ever read the Patriot Act that Bush signed into law? The government can make you a criminal for any reason it wants. And it defies the basis of our nation's history.
Perhaps you should return to your planet of origin.
Pearls before swine, Wphile. Definitely not worth your time. The boy hasn't got a single thought in his head, and he's proven it with every post.
Circumlocution: (cir·cum·lo·cu·tion, sûrkm-l-kyshn) n.
The use of unnecessarily wordy and indirect language.
Evasion in speech or writing.
A roundabout expression.
I really need to disengage and get some work done, but I appreciate you elucidating upon your perspective.
OK you dont like the measures taken in furtherance of our war on terror on the home front, and I agree, these measures are an unwanted consequence of the imperitive to impede mass murder.
Far greater were the sacrifices made by the American public to deny global dominion to hitler in World War Two, everybody was very very happy when that conflict ended.
But people also had sufficient generosity of spirit to endure those sacrifices, to the point of having to go to jail for purchasing an extra stick of butter. God Bless those wonderful people.
I hope that only a few among us are too small of heart to accept any sacrifice to rid the world of the virulent evil we confront today, even as we all hope for an early victory.
Were the cause unjust, these miniscule sacrifices would be antithetical to the cause of freedom, but the blood of innocents leaves us no choice but to condemn, confront, and crush the threat of global terror. To do otherwise would be to accept complicity in the next act of infamy, and that is a condition we can not accept. The natural human right to not be torn to pieces so that some totalitarian freak can revel over the bloody corpses of his victims compels us to end these inhuman acts.
If you do not wish to make any sacrifices under the Patriot Act, I suggest that you avoid acting on any impulse to hurl women and children skyward with explosives. If you can find the generosity of spirit to forebear from aiding the purpetrators of mass murder form accomplishing their goal of killing every free human being on the planet, I trust that you will find your "natural rights" wholly intact.
I wish you good fortune as you endeavour to avoid making any sacrifices for your freedom, and I hope that you can accept the sacrifices of the servicemen who have died to protect you from a grisly end in good grace.
Is it? Bleeding 'ell, I thought it was crowded in Tesco's the other day, now I know why.
Actually the world population is about 6 billion, not 50 billion.
Why does America have to take charge? Why does America have to play world cop?
As to why America "has" to take charge, if we don't, some other country will, and that's the simple truth. That's just the reality of the world. The survival of the fittest. Global politics is a lot like the laws of the jungle.
You sound like a GDamned socialist.
But if he is, indeed an algore lacky, he won't be too successful in convincing any of the 80% of Americans who approve of President Bush to vote against him by saying that the President shouldn't stand strong for America and fight terrorism, now will he? He's a loser either way.
Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon! Have a great evening............ (and wipe that grin off your face!) :o)
