Servicemen Furious at Coddling of Terrorists

American servicemen at Guantanamo Bay are so angry about the superior treatment given to the terrorist detainees that the military is sending in shrinks to try to prevent explosions of "inexplicable rage."

The al-Qaeda and Taliban fanatics at Camp X-Ray have received better treatment than the U.S. troops guarding and caring for them, despite all the whining from European and U.S. left-wingers, International Red Cross, United Nations and other blame-America-first types.

In fact, the Miami Herald reported today, the Muslim detainees:

"had two hot meals a day plus a cold lunch while the Marines and Army Military Police were eating field rations" from plastic packages.

enjoyed showers weeks earlier than the Americans, who had to make do with a garden hose.

scream at, spit on and hurl water at the servicemen, who are "working nearly nonstop."

''They did those atrocities to us, and we're treating them like royalty,'' fumed Marine Lance Cpl. Nathan Howell.

The Pentagon is suddenly concerned about its mistreatment of the servicemen. It fears they might "later explode with seemingly inexplicable rage - at their work or their families," the Herald reported.

The attempt at a solution: A special Navy psychiatric team is counseling and debriefing each of the estimated 1,000 Marines, soldiers and sailors at the compound.

''Many of them feel the detainees are being treated better than they are,'' said Cmdr. Karen Daly, a Navy psychiatrist and officer in charge of the Special Psychiatric Rapid Intervention Team, which has begun making rounds.

But our men and women in uniform are leery.

"Officially, the military culture embraces the concept of mental healthcare. But other parts of military culture teach people to button up their emotions and do their jobs," the Herald reported. "Daly said she learned since coming to the base that some Marines refer to psychiatrists as 'wizards' and caution each other, 'Never talk to a wizard.'"

He was talking about how things went and said he wishes the media would tell the whole story about how the detainees throw buckets of urine and excrement on our soldiers. The media ignores it, only wanting to talk about how bad the prisoners treated.

Well the Ari Fleischer, Don Rumsfield and even Bush should make a point of getting the message out. PERIOD

Tell a wizard my feelings? Hell, I don't even tell my girlfriend my feelings.

Start telling stuff to wizards, and you're gonna end up making aluminum ashtrays in South Carolina the rest of your tour.

Seriously, someone, hell maybe a "wizard" needs to turn the tables on the inmates and start freaking the hell out of THEM! Turn one into a laughing stock in front of the rest of the talibunnys, heck it works on mash!

I don't think our government realizes how much the American people resent this coddling.

It was worse in WWII when German prisoners in America had more and better food than the American civilians in the areas where the camps were located.

"The Clintonization of the military is sickening". .......While I agree with this statement, unfortuneatly the present policy of this coddling of the prisoners is ordered by the Bush administration.

Why not give our troops a little R&R? Have a pig roast, a few kegs of beer and a co-ed volleyball game right outside and upwind of the cages.

I read a thread earlier, that this new posture with the detainees is part of a strategy, to get information. More or less they are "Good cop/Bad cop" ing them. They are now affording privileges, to be taken away if the don't cooperate and tell them what they know.

...shrinks to try to prevent explosions of "inexplicable rage."

There's nothing "inexplicable" about it.

In related news: Amnesty International is whining that the prisoners are not being served breakfast in bed.

Compassionate Conservatism at work: entitlement for all.

The Founding Fathers warned against entitlements for certain cults and groups of people as it would not only be unfair and violating of common sense jurisprudence, it would invite a surge in the creation of various superstitious and political cults with various ludicrous claims.

Freedom of speech never meant government subsidised speech. This is another word for violation of power separation. Terrorism thrives in such environment. We are in big trouble.

These troops need our support. They do not need no freaking fascist psychologist with zero situational awareness save for spying on our troop morale. Pitting opposing views through such psychological compassionate conservatism is what is going to lead this nation to a disaster. Our troops should do their daily work, avoid thinking and defining, and they should transcend the various cults that are in opposition.

THey are however right on when it comes to identifying potential unrest and labels. There is a military hierarchy that impose the superiority of an officer in custody of his troops and prisoners. The higher ranking treatment and custody the prisoners receive is nonsense treachery that threaten operations and security.

Whether they are labeled as dogs or treated as dogs, it makes no difference, they should complain. Although they should not use terms like Wizard or dog, they should use professional military law and custody operation manuals that transcend the politics and the psychologists infesting our military at the risk of safety and national security.

Must be the ones who rose up rapidly in Clinton's Military. … and whom G.W. Bush has chosen to retain in a policy-making position. I’m afraid Bush’s : “ Help is on the Way” may remind voters of his father’s: “Read my Lips.”
