Selfish isn't the word for it! It's sick, and there should be a law against it. Hopefully there is or soon will be!! I developed severe hearing loss at an early age, and it hampers your life.

You watch ; these two cows will find plenty of supporters. When some deaf people saw the success Blacks, Hispanics, and others were having with raced-based power ploys (Affirmative Action, hate crimes legislation, etc) it "inspired" some of them to define themselves as "a people", the "Deaf community". These are the people who say that hearing aids=genocide! Even money these females will find supporters in the PC crowd who'll be afraid NOT to say it's their "right" .

We had a deaf couple around the corner from us for years. They had 5 hearing kids. The children were beautiful, talented, courteous and smart. They helped me with my sign language. I would never consider that deaf couple as handicapped with all they accomplished within the community and their family. (Of course, they were male and female.)
