Pieces of the OKC Puzzle

Thank you for publishing “OKC’s Mideast Connection” in the September 14th issue of THE NEW AMERICAN. This important piece of the Oklahoma bombing puzzle has been deliberately covered up by those charged with the official investigation. The FBI received at least three warnings from Israeli and West German intelligence sources of a Middle Eastern-assisted attack against the Murrah Building starting as much as a month before the Oklahoma City bombing.

One warning came from William Northrup, a well-known and respected U.S. and Israeli intelligence asset who lived in Oklahoma City. Taylor Jesse Clear, former Special Adviser for Combating Terrorism at the Pentagon’s Counter Terrorism Directorate, says he was told by Northrup that he (Northrup) had been sent by the Israeli government to the FBI offices in Oklahoma City on April 17, 1995 to convey a warning that a Middle Eastern attack could come against an Oklahoma City federal building around April 19, 1995. Northrup confirmed this story with KTOK radio in Oklahoma City and further stated that he was aware of warnings given by other Israeli sources and the West Germans up to a month before the bombing.

Even if the FBI had chosen to ignore the Israeli warnings, the FBI cannot ignore the fact that the U.S. Marshals nationwide were put on alert at all federal buildings, including the Murrah Building, in March 1995 because of specific threats made by Muslim extremists over the World Trade Center bombing trial. Federal Judge Wayne Alley was specifically warned by marshals of terrorist attempts in Oklahoma City in early April 1995 and he chose to keep his grandchildren out of the Murrah daycare center because of the warning.

Furthermore, the FBI took the warnings seriously because it tipped its own agents to stay out of the Murrah Building on April 19, 1995, even though agents normally went to the Murrah Building every day promptly at 9 a.m. to conduct business with agents of the DEA, Secret Service, ATF, and Defense Investigative Services.

There is considerable evidence that Middle Eastern men (including two Iraqis, one of whom is believed to be an Iraqi intelligence agent) helped McVeigh commit the bombing of the Murrah Building. Numerous calls were made by spokesmen identifying themselves with Islamic Jihad to local and national news media within a day of the bombing taking credit for the bombing, and these calls were reported by media outlets. But the FBI and the Justice Department have deliberately covered up prior knowledge of the Israeli warnings and the FBI has falsified its own interview reports of eyewitnesses who saw McVeigh with Middle Eastern helpers before the bombing. The eyewitness accounts of Middle Eastern men helping McVeigh at the bomb scene were reported on local television, KFOR-TV, and on local radio news, KTOK in Oklahoma City.

The prime Middle Eastern suspect was seen with McVeigh in Oklahoma City in the days before the bombing and he also was seen fleeing the Murrah Building in a brown Chevy pickup truck moments before the building was blown up. The brown Chevy truck was driven by two Middle Eastern men identified in an FBI all points bulletin read on television in Oklahoma City during the week after the bombing. And the Chevy truck was even impounded by the FBI in Oklahoma City at an apartment complex where at least one Middle Eastern suspect lived. Yet the FBI has never interviewed the prime suspect and has never adequately explained why the FBI dropped the all points bulletin.

The FBI deliberately ignored witness sketches and accounts of Middle Eastern men seen doing reconnaissance of the Murrah Building on April 17,1995, even though the FBI relied on these same witnesses for other details of the case. The FBI also has tried to coerce and intimidate witnesses (including military and local law enforcement personnel) to change their stories of Middle Eastern involvement.

It appears that Middle Eastern terrorists worked with McVeigh, Nichols, and domestic dissident groups to bomb the Murrah Building. Andreas Strassmeir, a German national living in the U.S. illegally, worked with McVeigh and was a white supremacist who had direct ties to Middle Eastern terrorists. Another important link is Gary D. Hunt, connected both to the Christian Identity movement and to McVeigh at Waco. In his newsletter, Hunt has openly praised the bombing as an act of war and as an example of how domestic and Middle Eastern dissidents cooperated in the bombing. Yet, the FBI has protected Strassmeir and has not attempted to interview Gary Hunt, even though Hunt has publicly advocated that more federal buildings be blown up.

The deliberate avoidance and failure of the FBI to adequately investigate possible collaboration of foreign and domestic terrorists within the U.S. is dangerous and irresponsible. Hamas terrorist cells exist in Oklahoma City and throughout the U.S. The FBI told former U.S. Congressman Dave McCurdy (R-OK) that Hamas had demolition experts in Oklahoma who may have participated in the Oklahoma City bombing. Even Ted Koppel of ABC’s Nightline recently (August 13th) asked why the FBI has not conducted pro-active or preemptive operations against Hamas and other Middle Eastern terrorist groups (not just individuals) and their sponsors to capture, prosecute, or deport them before they commit another terrorist act. Since the FBI regularly conducts sting operations against militias and white supremacist groups in the U.S., why hasn’t the FBI been successful in conducting similar operations against Middle Eastern groups? The FBI is covering up its foreknowledge of the involvement of Middle Eastern groups in the Oklahoma City bombing and is not getting Middle Eastern terrorists off American streets. Unless the FBI acts against these terrorist groups soon, it could be responsible for future deaths of Americans killed by any Middle Eastern terrorist groups involved in Oklahoma City.

I do not recommend waiting for the FBI bureaucracy to start policing itself and doing the right thing to protect people’s lives. Accordingly, I personally told Mr. Kolan Davis, a legal counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee (which has oversight of the FBI), during a December 1997 meeting in Washington, DC, that the Senate Judiciary Committee should immediately hold hearings on the Oklahoma City bombing case. Mr. Jesse Clear was with me at the meeting and confirmed his own belief that there was a cover-up involving elements of the FBI, the ATF, and the Oklahoma state government.

Subsequently, I have provided some evidence and contact information for six experts on the bombing case to Mr. Davis and the Clerk of the Judiciary, Mr. Charles Lardner. I have conveyed to a number of the committee’s staff the need for the committee to investigate the collaboration of domestic and Middle Eastern terrorists in the U.S. I also have conveyed to them my belief that the FBI and the committee will bear partial responsibility for any future terrorist deaths if it fails to thoroughly investigate and hold hearings. Sadly, as of this date, there has been no serious attempt by the Judiciary Committee to have hearings or to change FBI policy regarding Middle Eastern terrorists and the Oklahoma City bombing.

This letter was fully vetted with the editors of the New American magazine by the former Pentagon terrorism advisor Jesse Clear for accuracy of content before publication in the New American.

The Senate Judiciary legal counsels (Kolan Davis and Chad Groover who work for Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa)have known about the warnings given since 1997 (I warned Groover again last week) if not before of the failed FBI policy of allowing known middle east terrorist groups and cells and individual to come into the US for extended periods of time (years) to track them without making arrests or deporting them The FBI lost track of these individuals as they set up more cells in the US and as they helped commit the OKC bombing and the 9/11 attacks. The cells include Abu Nidal,AlQaeda and Hamas. And two notable examples of terrroists let in and tracked by the FBI for years were Ali Mohammed and Mohammed Atta.

The failure of the Senate Judiciary to act on all these warnings and change FBI policy makes the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee culpuble in the failures that led to the 9/11 attacks. Their continued failure to act will make them culpable for any more innocent Americans killed by terrorists that the FBI deliberately let into the US and failed to arrest.

A highly respected and well known ABC reporter for the Pentagon has told me the failed FBI policy in these areas has been and is still "Stupid". Note in my letter to the editor I point out that ABC Night Line in 1998 publicly and strongly questioned why the FBI had not taken action against known middle east terror groups in the US to avert terror attacks (like 9/11).

Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma was fully briefed that his Chief of Staff Herb Johnson had been told in 1995 that the DOJ was going to try to keep the middle east connection to the OKC bombing from the American people. Inhofe not only did nothing adequate, he also helped block the Senate trial of Clinton according to David Schippers, the leagal counsel for the House managers. I wrote an article about this in August 2000 for FreeRepublic entitled "While Inhofe Fiddles, America Burns in 2000."

And Congressmen and US Federal law enforcement were told in an official government memo on March 3, 1995 by the director of the House Task Force on Unconventional Warfare and Terrorism , Joseph Bodansky, that the Murrah building in OKC was on a target list of middle eastern terrorists to be attacked sometime in April 1995.

Senator Orin Hatch who sits on the Senate Judicary and is the backer of the FBI global school for the KGB in Budapest Hungary, was fully aware of the Bodansy warning in 1995. And Senator Grassley like Hatch fully bought into the Freed policy of the FBI helping known Abu Nidal (very close to Saddam and Iraq) terrorists come into the US on student visas (take deliberate advantage of INS weaknesses)for extended periods to track them but not arrest them. Freeh testified before Congress and bragged about this FBI policy in May 1995 less than a month after the OKC bombing!

Congressmen (Senators and House members)are deliberately perpetuating the coverup of the coverup of the middle east connection to the OKC bombing and to the 9/11 attacks to protect themselves for their own failures to act despite warnings about the FBI to them by Jesse Clear and Bodansky. The Congressmen do not want to face not being re-elected should it be learned and believed that they are also responsible for the failures that led to the 9/11 attacks and possibly to future attacks.

It seems highly unlikely to me that the public would hold anyone in Congress who comes clean now responsible for any attacks that may occur in the future. I think the chances are good that the public would not even hold such a person responsible for the attacks that have occurred in the past. After all, he would have shown that, whatever his faults, he was better than the rest of Congress.

I keep seeing similarities between the OKC bombing and the anthrax attacks. Both positioned to look like right wing domestic terrorism. What better way to drive a wedge between Americans to cause civil unrest and distrust in each other. The "fly planes into buildings" approach brought us together with enough resolve to prosecute a war.

Thanks for the letter, Pat. I know of no one that worked harder than you to influence our government to take the necessary actions to prevent 9-11. Our elected represenatives and paid civil servants failed us, but not without warning.

Not only highly unlikely but with utmost certainty the public will not hold anyone in Congress responsible for anything in the past, present or future. You can bet your farm on it.
