But during that same period sulfur-dioxide emissions . . . have dropped by 39 percent . . .; volatile organic compounds . . . by 42 percent; carbon monoxide emissions . . . have dropped by 28 percent; and large particulate-matter emissions . . . by 75 percent." Not much of an environmental crisis in these data. Not to rain on anyone's parade here, since I agree that cooking the data to serve the agenda is despicable, but these reductions would not have taken place without political effort to require things like scrubbers on copper smelters, catalytic converters on cars, or different fuels technology for gas turbines.
The last one is instructive. If you watch an old 707 take off, you'll see a huge trail. Watch a modern fan jet powered aircraft take off, and you'll hardly see anything. That's not an accident: it required significant changes in burner design, turbine design, and even the fuel composition.
DuPont is taking credit for things he opposed all along. While opposition may be good to moderate the demands of extremists, there's no reason conservatives can't be all for minimizing environmental impact without frivouously restraining trade. Since I've been involved with the design of machinery (like jet engines) for 20 years, I know that it can be done. If you don't believe me, compare the emissions of a 2002 Honda Accord with a 1973 Buick Skylark. And remember that in 1973 Detroit engineers were saying you couldn't build cars that get the mileage the Accord does and reduce the emissions.
So, who are the real luddites?

I am jobless as of March 15. No the loss of my job was strickly do to internal politics at the California State Grange. They have $300,000 that they can't find and they won't ask the 2 people who know where the money is. This would be like the Republicans asking the Democrats you know. So they decided that I was the most expendable person. They are misappropriating funds contrary to Grange law but nothing can be done until State session in Oct. Their house of cards will fall then but that won't save my job.
Know of anyone who needs a lobbyist?
To: farmfriend
Incredible, $300,000 missing and noone is really wanting to find out where it went!
It is probably a good thing that you will be leaving them.
I don't know who needs a lobby person, but you might want to post a personal job type of ad in FR to see!
Good luck. I know that this won't help to pay the mortgage and buy groceries now, but things like this usually work out for the best. Just make sure that you are protected from any future actions on the missing money.
To: Grampa Dave
Oh, I'm well pretected. The missing money thing is kind of comical really. The State Master was on the executive committee before his election and therefore responsible for the money but he doesn't know where to look. It is all in the financial stuff that he should have copies of. They could ask the former master but that would make him look bad or they are trying to pin something on her. One of the two. Also, a former committee member says he knows where it is too but he was a supporter of the former master and therefor they won't ask him either.
Games, political games.

Those are signs from the good Lord that it is time for you to move on! My younger son just left a company like that. He is sleeping better and feeling better everyday after he left and got another job.

Do you support these Anti American lies and frauds by your buddies the envirals?
Does your love of critters overcome fraud and rural cleansing of your fellow Americans?
Your thesis ? on the red legged frog has the same validity of all the rest of the lies/fraud committed by the green enviral nazis from hell!
So again, do you support lies/fraud and Nazi rural cleansing of Americans for the red legged frog and other ESA critters?
