Well, first the unions. The damn things came down here in the 1920s and haven't left yet. Then you've got probably a little palm greasing in paying back the support in the South from the conservatives down here. Found a nice little letter

Another article Here explaining what Bush I did with the textiles compared to Germany and Japan. Ahhhh, those Europeans. Might not be the most moral bunch around but when it comes to free trade, they know what's going on

I don't know if you noticed or not, but the day this came out, the Chinese then told us 'they were just kidding' about Hu not coming to the US (in protest)

What's Bush's connection to the textile industry? He's invested somewhere. I'm not sure we need any "federal" help - I think they've done enough damage. Maybe Fox and Castaneda have told Bush he must improve the employment rates of illegals in the US because when they're unemployed they send less money to Mexico. Textiles is an industry that traditionally has hired many illegals so it would make sense for him to prop this one industry up if he's out to help them.

I am talking about american made shoes by dexter they are shuting down operations here in Maine, do to shoes made overseas. American textile in the south are having the same problem, from this jobs have been lost.
