I think Halle Berry is talented but I didn't care for Valerie's contention that race should have something to do with it

I didn't say anything about race having anything to do with her award - I said her speech about race was inappropriate UNLESS she won just because of her race. Why accept for a whole race when you've won an award for your own individual achievement? I also said her beauty was dependent on her racial mix.

That fact is there is not a history of black men/women winning the Oscar's .. she was proud to be the first black women to win an Oscar for Leading Actress .. that's all
