No, my third is best picture. But I am noticing a pattern tonight... the awards are all spread out. So, I would not be surprised if 'A Beautiful Minds' wins since it only won one award before BP.
To: Restorer
I have two Black parents and she has one, but I consider her no less Black than I am. Just curious. Are you then a proponent of the "one drop rule?" Are you familiar with its unsavory history?
Not really- I go by what a person looks like and what they say they are. Halle identifies as Black and that's consistent with her appearance.
My father was half Swede and half German, but he didn't identify as a Swede and ignore his German mother.
The racial dynamics of German vs, Swede are completely different than Black vs. White- no comparison.

You are a genius!! That probably took you all of 5 minutes to write. Unbelievable dfu, unbelievable. (I was on the right track though, hehehehe).

Alright....a win for people of baldness! : )
To: estrogen
Heh. Just remember LOTR has 2 SEQUELS that should be as good or BETTER than the first installment :).
To: LenS
Crowe was robbed for being a complete jerk. He's a great actor (3 nominations in 3 years), but you can't run around treating everybody like dirt. Something tells me he thinks he's the "Richard Burton type" ... but he just doesn't realize he's out-classed.
To: ozaukeemom
Mel Gibson looked the best I have ever seen!! I LOVE HIM WITH ALL MY HEART!
To: eddie willers
LOL!
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
Well a redhead finally won!! How can you tell? The glare is killing the picture on my TV ;)
To: estrogen
Sorry - I wasn't trying to be critical of you at all (or evenly directly responding to you). Just logged on, saw your post, and had similar thoughts.
To: demnomo
I guess its tacky to wear a baseball cap with a tux...
To: rintense
Did you also predict Ron Howard would win? I'm thrilled for him and sad to hear his mom died 18 months ago.
To: RamsNo1
But I can live without Tom Hanks.
To: eddie willers
but will Clint Howard ever get the "Best Older Brother in A Supporting Role" award?
To: GreatOne
Don't take it too seriously. The Academy Awards are very political and the principles actively campaign for uncle Oscar. It's a completely bogus award. The Golden Globes and The People's Choice are more credible and accurate.

LORD OF THE RINGS --- or there is no justice!!!!! :)
To: mafree
race shouldn't influence the oscars....just in case Halle doesn't realize it, she won because she was the best actress. She thinks her win broke a barrier, but you've got to be good, not black, to be nominated. She was good and deserved to win because of her talents, not her color. Ditto with Denzel. Both were deserving actors. I don't see where color has kept anyone from winning/ being nominated. May the best actors win!
