Was your Peace and Justice class liberal? Because if it is, it's probably similar to the leftist garbage I got taught in Social Justice earlier this year.

That movie is less liberal, and more simply bad. What a huge disappointment. Even the scenery, which was magnificent, and well shot, didn't make up for its total suckness in all other categories.

Fr. Ed was a cool guy, but he was a lib, and his class reflected his beliefs.

the subversive part is when Gary Cooper flicks his badge onto the ground! Lot of leftist symbolism there. Would Wayne ever do such a thing?

The more direct message of High Noon was to leave the fighting to the professionals, they were the only ones who could be trusted.
Howard Hawks and John Ford hated High Noon because they thought it had values inconsistent with their view of society and of the old west. Some of their later films were viewed as comments on High Noon.

The Contender hands down.....American Beauty (barf) distant second.

Would Wayne ever do such a thing? Nah, the Duke would shoot once, keep his badge and go back to town to get busy with the hottest Señorita in the area (preferably, Alamo costar Linda Cristal).

didn't make up for its total suckness in all other categories.I find your description pedestrian for one of your position. Send me 500 words using Buckley and trial lawyers jargon and we've got a review.

NUNYA SPEAKS!!! I though all you did was post pictures!

Have you ever seen The Lady Eve? Henry Fonda is spectacular in it.

We have to put "The Phantom Menace" on here. Not only do they make a Clintonesque leader someone "basely mired in false charges of corruption" but they make the opposition party in the Senate corrupt and calculating and selfish. The evil characters are Lott Dodd and Nute Gunray (Newt Gingrich). And if you read the book, you find that they were "Neimoidians" with exceptional organizing ablities that were "driven by their intense desire for possessions". "Lott Dodd" (Trent Lott) represents the "Trade Federation" in the Senate, and unfortuately is unable to "thwart the new taxes" that cut into his profits when the galaxy needed the money.
I decided I didn't like the Star wars series so much after seeing this one.

Pleasantville was awfully Liberal in their message.

Never saw, "The Lady Eve," although I though Fonda was decent in "Advise & Consent."

Tho not a movie....ROOTS......cause it's based on a lie.
To: El Cid
P-O-P ! Bye, bye bubble. You saw it the way you wanted to; not the way it was intended. Just as " THE CRUCIBLE " was an anti-McCarthy screed, so too was " HIGH NOON " .
To: Clemenza
I ran out of pictures besides Torie's one of those "smart ones."
Hard to distract with pictures.

Perhaps not Commie Propaganda, but it is definitely not Conservative in its bastardization of the role of sex, relationships, and their place within the marriage. This, of course is not traditional, nor Conservative. More like degenerated, sick, and pathetic.

P-O-P ! Bye, bye bubble. You saw it the way you wanted to; not the way it was intended. But don't French postmodernists tell us that what the author intends is unimportant and that it is ultimatly what the reader, or community of readers, sees in a work that counts as the most "authentic" interpretation? Stop oppressing El Cid!

Not only a " lie ", but plagerism and fiction .
