Great in depth article, Tom Burnett's wife also says that before getting on the plane September her husband was having 'visions' of varoius sites in Washingtom including the White House.
Burnett, a devout Catholic took it as a sign from God that he would be called on to somehow serve his country in the nations capital.

Figures, there arent too many NCAA Champion Rugby Players who are flaming liberals.
That guy seeing the White House before the crash gave me cold chills..

I suspect, this far removed from the tragedy, that people are beginning to make things up.

Does Burnetts say "heterosexual"?
To: codebreaker
This Bingham thing bugs me for a couple of reasons:
First, the primary description of Mark Bingham is "gay," as if that's the important thing.
Second (and I may be wrong), I've never seen any evidence to demonstrate Bingham's alleged heroism other than gay men telling us "it's the sort of thing he'd do."
In my view, Bingham is nothing but a convenient poster boy for the gay agenda -- and his heroism, if any, is cheapened as a result.

I don't think we've seen specific evidence that any particular person on that plane was a hero. I suppose it was a group effort (if it happened the way we have been told it happened) and the specific role of anyone in particular will never be known by us.

I agree that some poster boy- ism is going on but the guy had a history (according to the article) of running down muggers with guns, and beating up a gang of asians who were harassing someone at a restaurant...taking chances to save others
It doesn't suprise me he was a Log Cabin Republican.
To: codebreaker
Any splashy articles about the overwhelming majority of the passengers who were proud, HETEROSEXUAL, and possible even Republican?
To: BikerNYC
The article uses all the cell phone convesations from the families there were a core group of 3-4 who rushed the cock pit after Sandy Bradshaw the flight attendant boiled water to throw at the Terrorists.
You can hear the Lords Prayer being said on the cell phone before Jeremy Glick (NCAA Judo Champion) Mark Bingham (NCAA Rugby Champion) and two football players (Tom Burnett and Todd Beamer)-they had picked the most physically able people to overwhelm the cockpit and it worked.

Burnett was mentioned as a 'devout Catholic' in the article, I'm not saying I agree with Binghams lifestyle choice..but it is obvious by the cell phone tapes who was involved. (which the government won't release-so the reporter contacted the families)

Here we go again.
WHO GIVES A FLYING BLEEP ABOUT MARK BINGHAM'S "SEXUAL ORIENTATION"? WHY IS THIS SO BLEEPING IMPORTANT?
These people who keep pounding that drum should be told flat to sit down and shut up.
Mark Bingham was an American.
Period.

Agreed, but I think the reason this has only been mentioned in one magazine article is that the libs don't want it to get out that he was a Log Cabin Republican becuase they want all the good publicity to make him a poster boy.
To: sinkspur
This was the first in depth account of all of the 30 some cell calls made from the Flight 93.
Why is the government keeping it under wraps?

Then I assume it would have been okay with you if he had wanted to marry his partner and adopt some kids, like any other American has the right to do.

This was the first in depth account of all of the 30 some cell calls made from the Flight 93. Why is the government keeping it under wraps? Because the plane was actually shot down before the passengers did anything(or was shot down anyway). I suspect that the timeline of the phone calls and what was said would probably support this. Debris doesn't end up eight miles away from a crash. Its better to make the sheeple think "Heroes" took the plane down than admit we did the right thing and shot it down. I understand why they downed it, and many people would, but the government is not to the point where they will admit we will kill our own.
To: FreeTally
Yup, and there were accounts of people on the road that saw smoke coming from the plane.
To: Houmatt
I agree and well stated.

Because the plane was actually shot down before the passengers did anything(or was shot down anyway.More likely that one of the terrorists set off a bomb.
In fact, several of the phone calls describe something that looked like a bomb on one of the hijackers.
OTOH, there's no evidence of any kind that the plane was shot down.

The spectator who saved President Ford from one of two assassination attempts was a gay ex-Marine. That and Bingham prove nothing beyond the fact that people are people. Some here find it difficult to accept this.

OTOH, there's no evidence of any kind that the plane was shot down. Sorry, debris was found 8 miles away, and people on the ground(in the general area) saw and heard fighters. No doubt it was shot down. You guys can pretend it was whatever you want, but given that three planes had alreday crashed by this time, and they intercepted all those phone calls, it was shot down(which was the the right thing). Just accept it. They will never tell us they shot it down.

After reading this thread, I think I finally understand the rules regarding this subject.
Anytime a gay person does something heroic or could be protrayed as a sympathetic victim, their sexuality is irrelevant, pointless, gratuitous and is not to be mentioned.
On the other hand, whenever a gay person does anything scandalous, criminal, or even slightly objectionable (say, consider an ambasadorship), their sexuality must be addressed and preferably vilified, whether or not it's germane to the controversy.
Any variation on these rules shows a clear pro-homosexual bias.
