Now that the latest tapes from the Nixon White House have been released, the press is all over them with characteristic glee, eager as always to remind us that not long ago the leader of the free world was buggier than a flophouse blanket. Don't you get tired of this?

Me neither. So when researcher Doug McVay from Common Sense for Drug Policy sent me tapes he culled from Nixon's Oval Office rants about drugs, I pounced on them. I figured it would be a welcome respite from Nixon's recent rants about Jews.

Ok, so Nixon was a bit off his rocker - he was actually correct in many of his beliefs, if not necessarily PC. Maybe he was off the deep end, but he wasn't totally off base.

The author of the article even goes on to say that 31 years later those things Nixon ranted about had not destroyed us - well, that is up to interpretation. I think our morality and society have indeed suffered because of the problems Nixon was upset about.

Has homosexuality,drugs, immorality destroyed us - not yet! But we are definately heading down that road.

And yet, thirty years later, the press is still bitching about the erasures on Nixon's tapes! But we know the press is totally unbiased and impartial, and always interested in investigating the real truth.

I agree with your analysis 100%. I don't agree with Nixon's jewish tirade, but on other issues he's correct, even though he's crude in expressing his thoughts.

Typical Washington Post. Drag a dead man's personal conversation through the muck. Are they breaking down the doors to find Clinton's private moments? With all the naughty sex stuff not released by Ken Starr, Clinton's police serving as personal pimps, the dragon lady witch using her connections for her own her power moves, the dragging down of national defense, etc., you would think they could sell more papers exposing their stinking heros.

I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. Here's Nixon, the premier politician of his time, he's been in government for decades already. He's seen intellgence reports, he's plugged into what's happening with communists and leftists. Like Ronald Reagan, he recognized what drugs in American society are really designed to do...destroy America.

What interests are served by keeping Nixon's conversations private? The inner workings of our government and the general paranoia and misinformation that informs their decisions on drug policy are of interest to me and many others in this forum, I am quite sure!

OMG LOL!!! I didn't even bother reading all of the existing replies when I posted that. So DouglasKC, I suppose you agree with Nixon on the following quote from the article?

"You know, it's a funny thing, every one of the bastards that are out for legalizing marijuana is Jewish. What the Christ is the matter with the Jews, Bob? What is the matter with them? I suppose it is because most of them are psychiatrists." The excerpts begin with the Nixon doctrine on why marijuana is much worse than alcohol: It is because people drink "to have fun" but they smoke marijuana "to get high."

DouglasKC, man I really, really hope you didn't mean you agree with Nixon on his views about marijuana. The difference in the drugs is the intent of the user? LOL.
