President Bush Defines the Difference Between Democrats and Republicans
FreeRepublic | 3/20/02 | B. A. Conservative

Today President George Bush provided the definition that answers the question that has been plagueing this website for years. Bush has provided the answer to the age old question of what is the difference between Republicans and Democrats. The difference has been right there for us to see all along, but now he has made it easy so that we all can plainly see it. When a Democrat says he is Conservative and supports the Constitution, we know he is lying.

No harm done by Democrat's lies because we all recognize that Democrats lie about everything. Too bad we keep getting taken in by the Republicans. Some day we will learn and give the Libertarians a try. Personally, I am going to become a Secessionist. Is there a state out there that is ready to be free? I want my freedom back; I will come and bring money.

He is taking your advice and going to Mexico. I understand he plans to bring a few million of his friends back with him. Since he plans to let them stay, maybe we should leave.

The Free State Project is a plan in which 20,000 or more liberty-oriented people will move to a single state of the U.S. to secure there a free society. We will accomplish this by first reforming state law, opting out of federal mandates, and finally negotiating directly with the federal government for appropriate political autonomy. We will be a community of freedom-loving individuals and families, and create a shining example of liberty for the rest of the nation and the world.

The Free State Project is a new strategy for freedom. Rather than continuing the same failed strategies aimed at bringing Washington, D.C. to the light, the Free State Project aims at liberty in a single state. What can be done in a single state? A great deal. We could repeal state taxes and wasteful state government programs. We could end the collaboration between state and federal law enforcement officials in enforcing unconstitutional federal laws. We could end asset forfeiture and abuses of eminent domain. We could privatize utilities and end inefficient regulations and monopolies. Then we could negotiate directly with the federal government for more autonomy. In other countries, provinces have obtained the right to opt out of national programs and receive a tax rebate instead. We could do the same.

How will the Free State Project succeed where others have failed? First, we aren't asking for "donations" in exchange for your participation; the F.S.P. is not a scheme for making money. Second, we formulate strategy and policy by consulting the membership. Third, we will choose our destination rationally and by looking at all the available evidence. The state where we will move will be decided by a vote of the full F.S.P. membership after research has been done on all the candidate states. The vote will be conducted according to the method of Cumulative Count, which more closely approximates the ideal of individual choice than simple majority rule.

The Free State Project unequivocally rejects violence, racism, and fraud. We are a peaceful, legal group, and we support working within the electoral process.

Join the Free State Project and take part in a rapidly growing movement aimed at securing liberty in our lifetime. We don't want your money, just your signature - and when the time comes, your willingness to carry through on your word of honor.

If you would like to participate in this exciting new venture, all you need to do is to read our Bylaws and sign the Statement of Intent. To view these documents and to join, click here. Please be sure also to check out our FAQ and articles sections, which contain more detailed information about the Free State Project, including answers to common questions like, "What can 20,000 activists do in one state?," "What is cumulative count?," and "Do you think the federal government will oppose your efforts?," along with many others.

Let's See:

A Budget that increases government spending at a rate greater than the rate of inflation... check.

An education bill that federalizes educational standards and basically locks in the "cradle" aspect of "cradle to grave" federal dependency... check.

Tariffs on foreign steel which lower the standard of living, raise prices of virtually all consumer durables and destroy our credibility as a global free trade partner... check.

A campaign finance law that protects incumbents from being defeated, locks in the two-party system and seriously jeopardizes everyone'e right of free speech... check.

A war to keep our attention focused elsewhere... check.

Good God, we've elected Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Libertarians are no better. They support butchering of unborn children and illegal drug use. What to do? I am thinking about going to live out in the desert with the Navajos.

where in this world are you going to go that's any better.

Bermuda, The Cayman Islands, Andorra, Switzerland, Costa Rica. They are all small states, but I think the spirit of the Forefathers is that small, relatively autonomous states are better.

Why oh why do we abandon ship the moment it gets rocky? Please, guys, President Bush is the president for everyone not just the conservatives. I don't know why you are griping--is it because he wants to grant aliens who qualify for a permanent visa to get one and still stay in the USA? Or are you upset that the Republicans helped the democrats vote in campaign finance reform? Please get angry at Jeffords for giving the democrats the majority.

A Budget that increases government spending at a rate greater than the rate of inflation... check.

With greatest increases in the area of fighting terrorism and a strong military.
Not Democratic values. Definitely Republican and conservative....check.

An education bill that federalizes educational standards and basically locks in the "cradle" aspect of "cradle to grave" federal dependency... check.

"federalizes educational standards" with the objective or creating accountability for the Federal $$$$$ spent...not just throwing money at failing programs.
This is clearly a Republican and conservative goal.

Gave us the largest tax cut in decades....conservative Republican...check.

Steadfastly opposed and rejected the Kyoto Global warming BS over the objections of liberal enviro-nazis at home and overseas....check.

Successfully stood behind his Christian conservative nominee for US AG (Ashcroft) in spite of over 100 liberal groups mobilizing opposition to him and the Democrats vowing to block his confirmation......check.

Continuing to fight for the reform and privatization of SS, in spite of the the objections and demonization of Democrats...check...

Continuing to push for drilling in ANWR and increased domestic production of oil....while the enviro-nazis and their Democrat buddies scream that Bush is trying to destroy the earth.....check.

So as we see ..there is really no difference between Bush and the Democrats. LOL

The difference between RATs and Reps is that RATS don't care if their guy has character, we do!!!!! Bush is a liar and I will never forgive him for that.

As a constitutionalist, I think Ashcroft is a disaster. The religious right might like him, but the thoughtful libertarian wing sees that he is systematically attempting to impose martial law. The scary part is he is getting away with it.

Continuing to fight for the reform and privatization of SS, in spite of the the objections and demonization of Democrats...check...

Yawn... wake me up when he delivers. He will no doubt introduce and get passed a prescription drug benefit for seniors, who already own more than 75 percent of the country's wealth, before he accomplishes this.

Continuing to push for drilling in ANWR and increased domestic production of oil....while the enviro-nazis and their Democrat buddies scream that Bush is trying to destroy the earth.....check.

Again, good luck. Wake me up when he delivers.

The neo-cons are worse than the liberals because they pretend to be in favor of limited government but in fact support even more federal intrusiveness than Democrats. Let's evaluate them based on what they DO rather than what they say.

I sincerely hope so. I'd be thrilled to live in a place that takes the Constitution seriously.
