It's up to you Maryland folks ... the rest of us can't do anything about it. Would you be happier with my Rep, Marcy Kaptur?

In fairness to the wimpette, here's John J. Miller and Ramnesh Ponnuru in National Review Online, 12/1/2000:

The reports of Rep. Connie Morella's support for Vice President Gore have been greatly exaggerated, her press secretary Jonathan Dean told NRO today. There have been reports in the press that Morella, a liberal Republican from Maryland, would vote for Gore if the presidential election is sent to the House of Representatives in January. Her congressional district gave Gore a solid majority last month.

"She never said she would vote for Gore," said Dean. "She does thinks it is premature to discuss the election going to the House."

The Maryland delegation is split 4-4 between Democrats and Republicans, so Morella, by defecting, could swing the state into Gore's column.

I agree, she was capable of it, though.

I don't take anything written by the National Review (a neo-con rag) seriously. No offense.

Maybe we could trade her for Ralph Hall.

Seriously, she is more liberal than most Democrats it seems.

Bob McManus went off the deep-end in this essay.

Anyone who puts Trotskyites with Bill Buckley are ideologically sloppy and blowing steam.
It is exactly this kind of unsupporting agitprop that is used against JBS by those who call it racists or facist. If any magazine should refuse to print this crap, oit should be TNA.

Not to mention, neocons are generally not in favor of the New Deal! They are in favor of trade though.

Connie Morella is my rep in Congress. Her husband was one of my law professors (and he represented Nixon in one of the Watergate cases). Connie Morella fairly represents the attitudes of her constituency, many of whom are federal employees or federal retirees.

Connie Morella is the only kind of person who can win that district. For God sake, it's a Dem stronghold represented by a Republican, it's either Morella or a liberal Dem, I would rather a RINO.

Ummm, Morella is a democRAT in all but name. So, electing a Democrat would not be worse in this case.

At any rate, the 8th district of Maryland would prefer that Morella be honest and switch parties.

The reason conservatives continue to get screwed by RINOs is because they tolerate them -- by constantly appealing to the fallacious "lesser of two evils" argument. When are conservatives going to learn that unless we stop being so "easy," the GOP leadership has no incentive to hear us out?

The only way she can "fairly represent ... her constituency" is by ignoring the Constitution. BTW, what was the point of your truism?
