It seems to me that the fault is with stupid school administrators that define a bread knife as one that is intended for use in harming another person.........

It seems to me that the School Board has an easy out here if they want to use it.

This knife was not designed to "cut or stab someone by being thrown".

This is not a throwing knife. It was not designed as a throwing knife. Because of its balance, you probably couldn't throw it at all more than a few feet without it turning sideways.

"At first, I thought [zero-tolerance] was great, because I support anything that will keep firearms and weapons out of the schools, but now I don't know," said Kimberley Moore.

If you smack me in the head with a two-by-four, you might spark my dormant brain cells into functioning for a brief flashing moment.

Now back to Oprah.

"I understand zero-tolerance, but I think you can take something to an extreme,"
Some say the zero-tolerance policy doesn't allow room for innocent mistakes or coincidence.

What exactly did they think ZERO- tolerance meant. It isn't called Sometimes tolerance or Partial tolerance it is called ZERO tolerance- as in NO tolerance ever under any circumstances. These people need to get a dictionary and look up definaitions before they support something. If they knew what it meant maybe they wouldn't have been so favorable to it.

I would hope that this situation would open the eyes of people so that we could get rid of Zero-Tolerance but I know that it isn't going to change the stupidity that supports such things...

"This seems to be more of a bad accident than anything."

A butter knife is an accident? Give me a freakin' break. They have been having all kinds of zero tolerance problems in schools lately. It's stupid and very sad for the children.

I try to tell liberals what it was like growing up in Texas, when we have the gun control debate. When we were growing up, all the guys had a gun rack full of guns in their pick-up. We would go out and shoot after school. No one ever killed anyone.

Another problem I think schools are having is over fights. They both go to jail...period. Even if someone is being bullied, throws no punchies, gets his butt kicked...he still goes to jail. There is no reasoning any more. No logic. It's just pathetic.
