Did anyone catch the two-fold interview on the TODAY Show with Katie Couric?
What a joke! And where was Andrea Yates' representation? No family members from her side! I smell a division brewing in that family.
Just like on Friday during the separate news conferences, hasn't anyone noticed this? Your thoughts and comments.
Interesting aside about the Yate's family version of Christianity: it was informed and based on the twisted teachings of an itinerant "preacher" who used to frequent the Grand Rapids Michigan area where I grew up. Until he got run out of town on a rail by the local prosecutor who grew weary of this jack-ass' hassling kids and women on the streets. At the time, the plea bargain was fairly groundbreaking: get out of town and agree to never darken our door again in exchange for a suspended sentence. He's never been back to my knowledge, but I see that he's been a busy beaver, spreading his poison in other parts of the country. What a disgrace to the Gospel. What a stumbling block for those who don't follow Christ. We may never know how many more lives this "evangelist" has touched for the worse, but here's one of his prize "students" and her handiwork for all to see. Plus, as an added bonus, we get to watch the spectacle of Rusty appearing on all the "important" chat shows, exihibiting an appalling and disturbing demeanor in the face of a loss that most of us would find absolutely debilitating.
At least walk to the park down the street? This is a real nice area. The kids were killed in June. Daylight savings time and lot's of light after "ROVDY" got off work. Why keep them in the house? Why not help his wife? Get them out of the house. Take some pressure off of her? Where was this guy?
Totally consummed in self-absorbed Rusty and having a hot affair with one of the many secretaries at NASA!
I'd like to point out that the only evidence we have that Andrea was dillusional comes from the case her defense lawyers tried to make. None of it is necessarily true, though some of it may be partially true.
"Each case is so different - we can never generalize, especially when it comes to mental illness."
Yes, each case is different. I worked with troubled teens for many years. I should admit at this point that, while not schizophrenic, I AM a chronic depressive. No bipolarity. No biggie. It just fits my personality profile. I only bring it up to make the point that TRANSFERRENCE is a bad mistake to make when attempting to understand why anyone does what they do. I've seen evidence of a lot of transferrence when reading passionate responses to passionate issues on many threads. Transferrence skews our perception.
In Michigan? Now THAT is something I'd like to hear more about. What was his problem with women and kids?
Where was Lorraina Bobbitt when she was needed.
I hope this catches up with Rusty and he will pay the ultimate price for Andrea and the 5 children, because he is ultimately responsible.
This guy stinks! What kind of father does not know how to change a diaper? I can change a diaper blindfolded! I love the smell of a dirty diaper in the morning! Smells like, like - FATHERHOOD!
What the heck did he do when one of the kids was sick? You aren't a father if you have never changed a diaper or cleaned up vomit or dealt with bedding and pee-pee, etc.
And these were all young kids plus the infant! It sure looks like ROVDY did not care too much for his kids?
I keep asking myself "where was he"?? And what kind of clown wants all these kids but won't take care of them? Oh, at the multi-media presentation funeral he put their blankets in their caskets. Was that the only time he put them to "bed"??
Sorry, but the thought of those little kids being killed like they were really agitates me. I can't fathom what was going on in their minds. Did they even think to call for "daddys" help? Because he was never there for them anyway?
And it sure does not look like justice has been done yet for those poor children! Not if this man was not taking care of them in the first place!
But everyone has their limits. This clown would make a major nuisance of himself at every public function, carrying around a full size wooden cross and shouting at people who came within ear shot. I've known people like this from my Baptist upbringing. These are the kind of people who think the only "authentic" christianity is the kind where you "sell out for the Lord" and generally act as though you are an Old Testament prophet sent personally by God to rebuke the sinners. The Yates family seems like they fell under this guy's sway, selling their home and living out of a motor home for a while.
The courts should not be used to justify a crime but to punish the guilty. When someone is guilty and is charged there is a reasonable description of guilt. To think of others could be responsible indirectly is incorrect based on assumptions.
One thing is lost on the father is that families dont have to be normal. Parents dont have rule books to follow and when the governments start to impose laws on how one family is suppose to be maintained we are in trouble. In the America I know, we have certain goals for our kids which are perscribed by the views of the parents. The views are what makes a strong nation. Since diversification of view every child will contribute to the whole in a different way.
Life is full of choices and to choose one that kills ones kids is wrong. Though the reall victim is the USA since those lives lost would of had an impact to the whole. The point is that no one person could of stopped this crazed woman forever. They tried everything but taking her children away(that would never of happened) in this liberal media world.
Good one. Based on what we're hearing, it certainly must have been. The scene gets uglier by the day.
