Conservative Rock Groups?

Posted on 03/17/2002 11:56:23 AM PST by Lebowski

I was wondering if anybody can name some conservative rockers. It seams most people in the Music Industry are Left-Leaning, especially the hard stuff. I think you could say the same for most entertainment personalities, including movie stars and directors. So if any of my fellow conservatives could point me in the way of some good conservative rock groups it would be appreciated.

Sam is a big UN guy. If that doesn't tell you anything...I don't know what will?

-------------------------------

Well, that's definitely something I'm against. But my main point was about our recent military action in the Balkans. We had no business getting involved and bombing a sovereign nation who never did us any harm, when all the Serbs were trying to do was keep their country from being torn apart by Islamist terrorism. Although I get the feeling that Mr. Hagar, for all of his alleged anti-war sympathies, probably *supported* "humanitarian intervention" on behalf of the KLA. About the only lefties I've seen who openly came out against the bombing of Serbia were the people at Counterpunch.

I don't know what your opinions on Kosovo were, but I thought it was wrong for the U.S. to get involved.

I loved the Scorpions. My husband and I just went to see Aerosmith in December. It was great. We went around back where they arrive and we saw them up close. I saw Joe Perry up REAL close. It was a hoot. I wanted to scream, but had to remind myself I am 33, and 33 year olds don't scream at rock stars. Didn't want to embarrass my husband (or myself). Aerosmith is waaaaaay too skinny. They need to eat more.

The Cult opened for them. It was great to hear them again. The only thing I didn't like about it was I got to hear the "F" word 500 times. Once or twice is ok, but all night long is another thing. LOL

VAN HALEN BUMP!!!

I'm too lazy to copy and paste the whole article, but here is one:

Yeah, he was the guy from Extreme. As far as Van Halen's career goes, probably a poor move. Nothing beats the old days with DLR.

Has anyone mentioned Kid Rock? I couldn't stand the punk when he first hit the scene, but, he's kind of grown on me.

Definitely have to give a bump to the boys from Poker Face. Nobody says it like these guys. My only regret is that I can't get the time off to go see them at the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot in April. Apparently, they play there every year. Now, that's my idea of a good time. Loud music & big guns. Yee Haa!!!

I'll have to check out Poker Face.

"Of course, not all musicians are Gore boosters. Rocker Ted Nugent, 3rd Bass rapper Pete Nice, and former Fabulous Thunderbirds guitarist Jimmie Vaughan are among the artists who have expressed support for Bush."

"And while stopping short of endorsing Bush, raunchy rap/rocker Kid Rock said on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards that he prefers the Republican nominee to the current resident of the White House. "I like Clinton; I like Bush better, though."

Article

I'm having fun on this thread learning where my money is going to go. I didn't like the Fabulous Thunderbirds until today. :)

Well, lets find a concert we can scream together at. ROFL!! I'll go! Dokken would have been sweet! OMGosh, this thread was great. (I've been feeling old lately). My vote is for Creed. I got their new CD today. I'm sitting here reading the words to his songs. Stapp is a babe and he is a brilliant song writer, but I give the musical genius credit to Tremonti.

Any Black Sabbath fans in here? My 6 year old boys favorite song is "Iron Man". LOL

Have you ever read the words to their songs? They are at least a very "spiritual" group and I'll bet you a $100 he is talking about THE God. I'm seriously guessing they want to keep their market wide open to all groups of people. Scotts mother said on VH1 he is doing the Lord's work with his music.

I don't care if they are Christian or not. Their music is great and there are no filthy words in their music. A head banging mom neads SOMETHING her kids can listen to, doesn't she? LOL Pantera and Rob Zombie wasn't going to work out too well.

One more post, then I've got to get up and go be a mom

This is Kid Rocks song about post abortion from a Daddy's point of view.

Kid Rock
The History of Rock (2000)
Abortion

My veins are poppin' from this love inside
I just can't let it out
This pipe and these needles are my only guide
They've got me on the wrong route
What is my life about?
Living in the shadows of a man I've never seen
And dreamin' like a lonley child
I know your brothers and your sister and your mother too
Man I wish you could see them too
Oh Lord, Oh Lord
Man I wish that you could see them too
Man I wish that you could see them too
So can I come to see you sometime?
Cause I've been missin' you
I've never heard you cry
I've never seen you why
I'm feeling oh so young
But still I must die to get to you
And if I do I wonder how just you will see me
And implicate the things Ive done
I'm dieing in the shadows of this man I've never seen
I'll see you soon
Now wheres my gun?
Oh Lord, Oh Lord
Oh Lord, wheres my gun?
Oh wheres my gun?
Oh Lord, wheres my gun?
Oh Lord, my gun
Let me open your eyes
Let me see who you are
I am you, you are me
We are a part of
The second coming of christ
Its God himself in a jar
Yeah yeah
Let me open your eyes
Let me see who you are
I am you, you are me
We are a part of
The second coming of christ
Its God himself in a jar
Yeahhhh heyaaaaa
You got me, sad and lonely
But I'm me, me
You know you make me so lonely
I am so lonely
And I will pray and then I'll cry
And I will pray and then I'll cry
And I will pray and then I'll cry
And I will pray and then I'll cry

Gene Simmons is very outspoken and I've been very impressed with his "conservative" thoughts lately.

"I was made for lovin' you baby...you were made for lovin' me."

Sorry, I mean, I don't love you rdb3, I just love that song. ROFL!!! (I was down in your town today. Glad I don't live there any more). Take care!

I love you like a brother, dontcha know? (How many chicks told you that when you were young? That's our famous, "I like you but I don't like you" line). LOL

Sorry guys, I start talking about music and I can't shut up. LOL
