Looking of a shotgun
Posted on 03/14/2002 6:51:57 PM PST by rllngrk33
I'm lookikng for a single trigger side by side 12 gauge shotgun with screw chokes. If there is such a beast, can anyone help with suggestions where I can find one? I need one for cowboy action shooting in the modern class. Any help is welcome as I'm just getting started. Thanks

Funny you posted this, because I'm looking for the money to buy a new shotgun. Let me know if you know where I can find some.

$2000 is a bit beyond my price range. How about under $1000?

Stoeger makes $300 sxs 20 inchers that are all the rage at cowboy events. They even come with screw chokes and with or without ejectors.

Typical FreeRepublic thread. Somebody asks a question that makes no sense from this side then someone answers the nonsensical question that actually made sense in the first place but the rest of us still don't know what they are talking about.

Oops..I got it wrong, the Stoegers have fixed, not removable chokes.....and they are double triggered. Still a darn nice cowboy action gun. See link in earlier post.

I believe there is a magazine being published now for cowboy shooting. Get one from the bookstore and check the ads. You might find what you are looking for.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy one shotgun and change barrels when you need to?

IZH-MP213 The new IZH-MP213, made in Russia, features a unique double trigger group that is quickly removable from the action and each of the double triggers will independently function as a single selective trigger. These features, combined with the American style inter-changeable choke tubes, make the IZH-MP213 one of the most versatile hunting and clay target shotguns. If you require a short trigger pull, use the rear trigger - If you need a longer trigger pull, use the front trigger - If the action gets dirty and wet at the range or freezes up on a duck hunt, simply remove the trigger group, clean it or de-ice it and your ready to resume your shooting. One year factory warranty.

IZH43 - Bounty Hunter With the increasing popularity of cowboy action shooting, many new cowboys are looking for a good side by side shotgun. The following quote sums up how we feel about our Bounty Hunter II (IZH43 and IZH43K). "It may be the most overlooked value for the money in the market today." The Bounty Hunter II is loaded with features such as hammer forged chrome lined barrels, automatic tang safety and machined steel (receiver, mono block and extractor). In addition the IZH43K comes with external cocking hammers and steel side plates. A traditionally styled stock and forend make the Bounty Hunter II the ideal gun to take on the trail. Options: screw chokes, walnut stock and single selective trigger.

You can't drink all day long unless you start really early in the morning. :-)
