Elizabeth of Englands (50th Aniiversary) Jubilee Year is now being troubled by an American. Her Majesty just acquired an unwanted and unacknowledged first cousin. Michael Thornton Duchess of York biographer informs me.
Elizabeth Kelman, 67-year -old missus of American pathologist Dr. Edward Kelman of Maryville Tenn. (where??!), and mother of five sons, is claiming she's the stolen child of Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson. Says she was born June 3, 1934. In England. Two years before the abdication and three years to the very day Eddie married the Amercian dutchess and they became the wandering unemployed Duke and Dutchess of Windsor.

I am a second cousin, thru marriage, a marriage that is over now and no one likes to talk about. If I can get tickets to a certain tennis tournament, maybe sit in a nice box, I will not cause any problems...
Neal and Belinda are going to give him a real hard time if this gal is found to have Royal's DNA.

I curtsey to your wisdom, oh great Queen of Iowa.

Go to the picture section of her relatives and the facial features compared to the Windsors-incredible, very close to a match. What pictures section? The linked article doesn't contain any pictures.
To: Snuffington
She also has the example of Lady Jane Grey to think about.

It would appear that the children of Elizabeth II have all married commoners, so that if children of commoners cannot inherit the throne, this would be the end of it with the present Queen's death!
More likely, it is the abdication of her father Edward 8th that would invalidate her claim if any, plus perhaps her American citizenship if she has any.
For all that, if "pathologists"=MD's, make as much money as I think they do, she may have been better off this way after all.
But: who on earth had custody of the baby in England, and if they were going to be put it up for adoption, why do so in America rather than in England, and does this invalidate her American citizenship, if it is found that records were in error and she was not in fact born in the USA after all?
I know this seems preposterous but usual psych. methods show she actually is daughter of WWS.

Edward VIII renoucnced the throne for his decendents too unless the rest of the royals all die suddenly she has no claim even if what she says is true.

Everyone appears to be forgetting Sam Houston, who was raised in Maryville, and also ran a schoolhouse there, after having run away from home to live with the Cherokee indians for several years.
Serving under Andrew Jackson, he was a hero in the war of 1812, wounded while fighting the Creek Indians. Served two terms in the US Congress, and one term as Governor of Tennessee. Problems with his marriage caused Houston to choose to resign as Governor of TN.
Having moved to Texas, he became commander of the Army of Texas, defeated Santa Anna and became the first President of the Republic of Texas. After convincing the US to take Texas in as a state, served two terms as US Senator, then two terms as Governor of the state of Texas.
Houston was finally removed from office when he committed political suicide by following his convictions and refusing to swear allegience to the confederacy.
Other than that, he didn't do much. :) Houston was not a perfect man, but a great one in many respects...

Lady Di was not a commoner when she married the guy with big ears.

I like the DNA route. It would be conclusive.

But Lady Di was in the same social circles with the Royal Family and went to parties as a schoolteacher.

Maryville (Maravul), is no longer dry. Recently approved liquor stores opened up in 2002.

I'm not up on British rules of royalty, but the fact that Edward abdicated the throne means, I think, that his decendents no long have claim to the throne, does it not? Don't think so. I think the present QEII could abdicate her throne if favor of Chuckie if she didn't wish to sit there till her death.
But hey, what do I know. My familiy left that quaint little island back in the 1760's.

I spent every childhood summer in Maryville, where my grandparents lived. I still have the little souvenier animals we used to get on our trips to Sam Houston's schoolhouse.
I didn't run into too many delusional "princesses" on my summertime visits, but am not as surprised as some that she would be found in Maryville.

- home of hydrogen peroxide desktop fusion, amongst other things. Is that working? I saw the initial reports but I haven't seen any collateral tests. Has it been replicated?
