A simple one-page resolution expressing the Senate's support for U.S. military forces in Afghanistan was on hold yesterday while Democrats wrestled with its language.

"The Senate stands united with the president in the ongoing effort to destroy Al Qaeda," states a draft of the resolution that Democrats were seeking to change.

Senator Larry Craig, Idaho, strongly denounced Daschole this a.m. on Fox 'n Friends, saying it was obviously politically motivated...the dems tried to attack Bush through the economy, but it's obvious there's a rebound because of the June tax rebates....so they go after the war; Edie suggested to Senator Craig is Daschole's remarks motivated by his political aspirations? Craig said he believed they were.....TOO COOL!

Mr. Lott said Republicans greeted Mr. Daschle's proposal on Tuesday with "uproarious laughter"

Come-on. Lott we don't need to hear about "uproarious laughter" There ain't nothing to laugh about when we have thousands dead in the states, and men and women in harms way.

Give me a break, cut out all the partisan bulls##t, and get something done.

They are always at a loss for words when it comes to supporting the military ... I've watched it for the last 20 years. Only the Pubbies really speak out in support of us. But the DemocRATs would rather watch us starve, and see our readiness go down the tubes ... case in point ... the Klinton years. Dasshole wants to parse words so that the bill appears politically correct, so that he can look good to the lefties, and get votes when he's up for re-election. He could give a tinkers-damn about our brothers putting their lives on the line in Afghanistan. He probably dances in the street knowing that it is not him that has to risk it all. The sad irony of this mess is that we put our butts on the line for his freedom as well as that of every other dog-turd DemocRAT.

DJ88, kattracks, bobthenailer, Cobra64 and all, the noose is tightening around Tom Daschle’s scrawny little neck. This man is playing despicable politics with the lives of our fighting men and women just as his wife did with the lives of all who use the airlines. She sat on any and all security measures to appease them. Linda and Tom Daschle are two of the most greedy people in government next to the Clintons. They care not one whit about America.

These loathsome politicians have made it clear where they stand in the protection of America and Americans. Don’t ever forget it...vote them out of office.

Let them know the “sense of the American People” and vote NO when the time comes. Meanwhile write, call or fax the Daschle office and let the odious little man know how the country perceives him...this clone of George Mitchell!

Grannymom, I have given.........now everyone of you e-mail the White House in support of our President!

Daschle and the democrats are so morally bereft they cannot even agree on the wording of a statement meant to bolster and sustain our troops. I pity them. What a truly soul sick bunch.

"set back"? I just can't stop laughing at this idiot as my blood boils!

I distictly recall in 1968 when we had only 9 KIA's it was considered a relief...how can this little prick sleep?

God bless our brave men and women in uniform. God bless the souls that have fallen and their families. We thank them for their courage and protection so "little d" can have his moment in front of the cameras.

The Rats already agreed to a resolution in September 2001. Now they want to re-write it. This can't be good. The one they signed before gave president full support across the board. This one can only water the original down. Can't someone call them on it ? I don't trust Lott to see an ambush coming.

I can't believe very well-paid Congressmen are arguing over this. I imagine what the troops really would like is a hot meal, some warm, dry socks, and more ammo.

Mr. Lott said Republicans greeted Mr. Daschle's proposal on Tuesday with "uproarious laughter" at their weekly luncheon because of the majority leader's criticism of the war effort just days earlier. "There was some amazement [among Republicans] that we were now on a united, positive footing," Mr. Lott said.

FReepers are equally laughing at Little Tommy Dashole for this 5 course meal of CROW!

"We want to make sure they know that they're in our thoughts and that we strongly support their efforts," said Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, in reference to U.S. troops in combat.

LIAR!

Dont fool yourselves. Daschle is not the only one on board. There are several Democrats in Congress whose real opinion would get them hung by their own liberal constituents. There are also a number of liberal Democrat House members who would probably vote for something like this rather than being exposed but they would choke while doing it.As I have said before look at those who are a lot less visable than they were a year ago especially in the House of Representatives.Your Florida Democrats,California and a number of Northern Democrats want be this quite when they die.

Ya think there is any chance that Freepers can start a fund to have this "too important" Senate resolution printed on toilette paper and sent to our troops to afford them the means to demonstrate, every day, their appreciation for the scum in the Senate and the sincerity of their Senate resolution?

The RATS can save the POLITICAL SPIN CRUD, just get busy and pass some LAW that will oversee our military's right to vote in future elections. I mean a foolproof method of assuring the military and we civilians that every vote cast by a fighting man is properly tallied in the proper place. They MUST have a voice in eliminating the GARBAGE from our Congress. I will never forger what the slimbags did to our military votes last election and I dont hear any remedies being discussed

They want to construct the phrasing so that it says, "we support our armed forces, but NOT our President." Wouldn't it be awful if they actually gave the President any credit or positive publicity through supporting this bill? It would be terrible if the general public thought they actually believed in our President and his actions....especially with such an important election looming!
