Well, he says Phillip BEGAN with the scripture of prophecy in Isaiah about sacrifice of Jesus (vs 32) but I'm sure he went on to explain the prophecy was about Jesus the Messiah and that He recently in Jerusalem fulfilled the prophets by His death, burial, resurrection and ascension to heaven.

But WHY did jesus have to die, mommy? :-)First of all, he doesn't ask that question probably because he knows Jesus is alive. But if he did, I'd answer that Jesus willingly died to pay the penalty of sin for us and give us eternal life forever with Him.
Now if you want to know Him, spend time with Him, read His word for yourself, obey Him, follow Him, find out what He said about salvation for yourself. Read the Bible in its entirety. Find out what He has to say about everything. For one thing, he said he hates the doctrine of the Nicolatians. Nicolatians from two Greek words: Nikos = conquer and laos = people. There's a clue about following Him for ourselves instead of following another's religious interpretation. Many more clues to be found in the Word. Another clue is the Bereans who searched the scripture daily to see "whether those things were so. The Scripture will tell you what the Scripture is for. Just read with an open heart, like 2sheep said.

Just read with an open heart, like 2sheep said. It might not hurt to engage your brain as well. There are certain sects which have other books beside the bible that ask you to read them with an open heart too. Sometimes you can open your heart to mischief. Search the scriptures, but test the spirits.

"Test the spirits" there's a Biblical command. Guess you know more than you were alluding to.
There are certain sects which have other books beside the bible that ask you to read them with an open heart too. Could you be more straightforward so I can know what books you're referring to? I used to be a voracious reader and book collector. Now I read the Bible, sometimes refer to the concordance, and maybe read 5-10 Christian testimonies a year, so I'm way out of the loop.
To: P-Marlowe
Plus I read quite a few history books per year, I forgot about that.
To: Prodigal Daughter
Could you be more straightforward so I can know what books you're referring to? Not without running the risk of having my posts pulled. You can figure it out. They offer a free copy of their book on television once in a while. They ask that you consider it as "another testament" to Jesus. They ask that you take it and "sincerely" ask God to reveal to you whether or not its "true."
Just remember that if you WANT to believe a lie, then God will reinforce your belief in the lie.
2 Thess 2:11
I would also caution anyone considering their offer to read Galatians 1:6-9

Having your "posts pulled" shouldn't stop you from telling the truth.

It might not hurt to engage your brain as well. Come now, its more fun to jump up and down and scream "chicken little".

I've known Hal for many years and I know that he has never claimed to be a prophet. In fact he speaks about false prophets and makes a very careful distinction between interpreting the word of God and being a prophet.
I know for a fact that he loves the Lord with all his heart and also know for a fact that even he knows that he is not a perfect human being. He admits to making mistakes in his past and owns up to them.
I know for a fact that if you followed Hal's teaching in any way, you would know that he teaches much, much more than prophesy and many have come to know Christ through his teaching, including myself and most of my family.
In the Late Great Planet Earth there is a sentence in there where Hal uses the phrase "I predict" but in the same paragraph he also states that he isn't a prophet and it is just his interpretation.
Many (not all)Hal bashers refer to that one phrase to condemn him on everything that comes out of his mouth.
I would really appreciate you coming up with some sort of proof that Hal has ever called himself a prophet.

What is your problem?
To: StayoutdaBushesWay
Thanks for the post. It seems that some "Christians" like to go around bashing high profile Christians as sport. Hal is always a good target. These people make statements about Hal, like he "claims to be a prophet" and then show how he was wrong to "prove" that he was a false prophet. That makes them feel good about themselvs. Well they shouldn't feel good about spreading false information about anyone, especially a Christian brother (although these "Christians" would never admit that someone like Hal Lindsey could possibly be a "Christian).
Jesus said that you would know the Christians because they have love one for another. Using Jesus' standard I don't think I know a lot of Christians.

I believe God gives us signs so we can know what's happening or going to happen. He also speaks through his prophets and intercessors such as those found on the Elijah List. It's encouraging to see what God is doing. We won't know what he's doing now unless he gives us signs.

No lie?
You might consider a reading comprehension course for her.

I didn't say Lindsey didn't "love the Lord."
Anyone who doesn't want to be viewed as a prophet of God has an easy chore: don't issue "predictions" about the future involving the end of the world and the Son of God.
I have seen him on TV MANY TIMES and he ALWAYS gives the impression---and does not disabuse anyone---that he is operation as some sort of prophetic dispensation. Maybe, if you know him, you should urge him to do more disclaimers.

"It is also worth pointing out than in several places a PRECONDITION to the return of Jesus is that we "should all come into the unity of the faith" and I don't see much unity out there. Indeed, every time anyone MOVES toward unity, the CFR/New World Order people rise up."
Perhaps the precondition will be met immediatly after the tribulation when the Lord Jesus Christ will set up His 1000 year kingdom rule on the earth. I believe that he will seperate the survivors of the tribulation at that time and only the believers will enter the Kingdom; they will have children who must make a choice and that will necessitate the sacrificial system being reinstated so that "kingdom kids" will see that the cost of sin is death in an otherwise perfect world ruled by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ with his raptured saints in ministry to the flesh and blood children of Adam. This 1000 year rule will end and Lord Jesus will deliver the Kingdom age believers up to the Father. God;after the white throne judgement of the unsaved; will then destroy this fallen world by fire and create the new heavens and new earth and new Jerusalem, this will be the new beginnings of mankind saved by grace through faith in the finished work of only Jesus Christ on the cross some 2000 years ago.

Hal also seems to over look Christ saying that the first sign of the end would be "Take heed lest any man deceive you: For many shall come in My name, saying, I am Christ; (Christian) and shall deceive many. And when ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
So if Christ tells us not to be troubled over war then "peace" "peace" "peace" seems to be the thing we should be troubled about.
To: JohnHuang2
Jesus Christ predicted that in the last days leading to his return, there would be a great wave of persecution against Christians. You forgot to add the obligatory BARF alert. These fortune tellers, like the thrice-married Hal, once paened the certain victory of global communism. God takes down marx, and these @$$holes immediately look for another villain to cringe before.
To: LS
, and there are too many defeated, un-victorious, whining Christians still here, including many on this board who WANT to be whipped, defeated, and poor. So I believe we have a long way to go yet, although there is no doubt that JESUS IS COMING. A million thanks for your words of Biblical sanity.
To: Alas
Ah, but are you that sure that it is not? Yes. Jesus is ruling now, will rule until all his enemies are dubdued, and I see too many butts out there that still need to be kicked.
Does not the Lord say that no man, incuding you, me and Hal, knows the hour and day, but, that we should be able to tell about when by the signs.
He was speaking of the Great Tribulation, AKA the Jewish war, 63-70 AD.
And does He not then go on and give us an idea of what the times will be like just before his return?
No.
And do not those signs tend to point to what we are seing and hearing on the news this very time?
No.
