Remember to Vote March 5th
e-newsletter ^ | March 4th, 2002 | Bill Simon

Posted on 03/04/2002 12:00:27 PM PST by Gophack

Dear Friend and Supporter,

History is in the making. Tomorrow, Tuesday March 5th, Republican voters will go to the polls to decide who will be the nominee to take on Gray Davis this November. I encourage you to be there too.

The 2002 California Gubernatorial election is going down in history as one of the most exciting, unexpected and energizing elections since Ronald Reagan won his first campaign for governor in 1966.

The political pundits have been surprised by our recent climb in the polls. We are not surprised. We know why.

Values win elections. Our campaign has been about ideas and the values we share.

In the words of Ronald Reagan, "You and I have a rendezvous with destiny." Our conservative values focus on our theme of rebuilding California. We are a great state populated by a great and industrious people. Mediocrity has no place here. Failure is a new word for us. We must not settle for rolling blackouts, crumbling roads, failing schools and turbulent seas of fiscal red ink. It does not have to be that way. Together we can and will restore the shine to our Golden State.

I owe my lead in the polls to your hard work.

But remember, the election is not over until tomorrow at 8:00 pm.

Everyone needs to vote tomorrow, March 5th. The race is still close. The only poll that matters is the one on Election Day.

Please, we must not let all of our hard work go to waste. We must all vote tomorrow. Most importantly we must remind our friends -- the people who care about the same things we do -- to vote as well.

No amount of advertising can come close to the power of word-of-mouth campaigning between friends. So won't you please help me out? Please tell a friend, "Vote for Bill Simon for Governor on Tuesday March 5th."

Please forward this message to your Republican friends and colleagues who care about California's future.

Thank you, God bless you, and God bless California.

Sincerely,

Bill Simon

Wish you were here in beautiful California! Say a prayer for us ... for tomorrow AND November. Likewise all other non-Californian Simon supporters ... prayer works.

Go Simon!

Can't vote, since I do not, nor have I ever lived in California. Much moral support, however, to Bill Simon. May he send Liberal Dick to an early retirement.

I would be committing a felony if I voted in the primary tomorrow.

I'm not a felon, in prison, or under 18. I'm a citizen, registered to vote, and vote in every election.

Why would it be a felony for me to vote on Tuesday for Simon? You get to figure out the riddle.

I'm there with you ... I'm voting no on 40, 45 .. all local bonds. I never voted for a bond since my first election in 1988, I'm not going to start now.

Did you vote by absentee ballot already, or do you reside in a different state?

Ding ding ding ding ding. Another winner. I live in Washington State. I got on this Simon ping list and "WHAM" I get pinged all day every day with Simon this and Simon that. Only my good nature keeps me from whining.

Consider this a whining bump.

Thanks!
I'm sure if Gophack had entered two answers like I did, she would have won by being so much faster.

I won't forget. And I will vote no on the term limits extension, and for Stites for Sheriff, and no on anything that costs money.

I took you off my ping list ... Sorry to bug you! We are all so excited down here south of you to finally have a conservative Republican we can be proud of.

Washington is a beautiful state. I was there once, and would love to go back. Idaho and Montana are also incredible ... I need to convince my husband he can live in the snow again. He went to college in Montana and said something like "Over my dead body" when I suggested we consider relocating when the kids are older. ;-)
