Call me the typical self-centered ugly American, but I could give a rip what these people think. They remind of me of small town jealous gossipy biddies who's only form of entertainment is trying to tear down those they wish they could be.
They dislike our success, they dislike our military power, they dislike the fact that when it comes down to it, we don't need them - seems to me, they just dislike the fact that they are irrelevant.

Exactly. It all boils down to envy. They envy us.

Christian Astier is the axis of whining-euro-weenie-trash morons.

I've got to be honest, I always cringe a little when I hear Websters worst English being spoken, and I cant claim to care for all things American - but I hope you guys pay no attention to the words OF A BLOODY FRENCHMAN!

Why is anyone giving this sort of garbage any credibility? Other then the obvious fact the media in America is so out there. If the same interviews were done in Japan in say 1940, or Germany in 1938, do you think it would have been any different in the answers?

Ignore their carping criticism and work with those willing to work with us.Bull's-eye.

Washington Post columnist Sally Jenkins labeled the controversies at the Salt Lake City Games an "anti-American binge," ...
If you use your imagination a little, it is interesting to think what would have been the reaction if there were a terrorist act at the Olympics. Say the kidnapping and murder of the Russian hockey team. I think everyone would agree that the so-called controversies would become forgotten quickly. It shows that the Europeans have lost perspective and are self-centered on their trivial concerns.
An excellent rejoinder BTW.

Christian Astier, a 44-year-old Parisian, agrees that there is an "axis of evil." But he thinks the United States is part of it.
sorry, but that is about as far as i got..
is it an official stereotype yet??
reporter says "hmm.. where can i get a negative critical opinion on america?.. i know! ask a frenchman!"
i dont think anyone cares what the french think..
in fact, that is probably why they said 'Parisian' so people who werent paying attention would skim over that

What in God's name is
wrong with these idiots????
They feign "solidarity" as long as that is relegated to lighting candles and laying flowers at the gates of our embassies. However, when we actually have the gall to fight back, something I guess the average French citizen doesn't understand, then it's "Mon dieu!!! They..........they are too strong!!! They........they will do what they want rather than join us in our collective European, panty-waisted, limp-wristed hand wringing!!!"
God save us from our "allies". What shameless wussies.
No wonder Hitler had such an easy time marching across Europe. If it wasn't for the Brits....................................

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF ENVY WHEN IT COMES TO ITS ABILITY TO CREATE, INNOVATE AND PRODUCE ITS INEVITABLE AND ONLY BYPRODUCTS:
HATRED AND RAGE!
[And; although its there in trumps, we don't have to go to Paris for it or London or Arabia or Africa or to come here to Asia. Just scratch a "DemocRAT"]
