Tell us something about this guy. Is he any good?

I guess Ms. Swift is a good example of one of those local Conservative politicians? lol. BTW, you think because you can't drink in Boston on Sundays that you're conservative. lol There are still Dry counties down here.

Work with me here. Imagine if Mitt Romney does throw his hat in the ring, gets the GOP nomination, and beats the little troll Reich. Then in 2004, VP Cheney decides not to run with W. and Bush picks Romney as his running mate- then he could be groomed for the leadership position to succeed Bush in 2008.
I've also imagined this scenario for Bill Simon in California.
Romney's got the family name and credentials to get the nomination if he wants it- he almost beat Ted Kennedy in 1994, without any political experience.

Would have felt allot better if he beat Teddy back in 94
I notice he had a little tussle with a security detail in SLC. Maybe this is a good sign that he will be less relucttant to run some attack adds this time around.
I will volunteer to work his campaign if he throws his hat in
Swifty's time in office has been a disaster

I used to like this guy until I heard the crap coming out of his mouth concerning the WTC flag/Opening ceremonies flap.
His first comments were
not in support of our athletes and seemed to be aimed at placating the Euro trash that had their panties in a bunch.
I don't see him as a true Republican anymore. He's more of a moderate. And he'll need to be to get elected in this upside-down Commonwealth.
I suppose anyone is better than Swifty Jane.

He got beat in '94 by the little old ladies from Southie. They will not come out for Reich. Even then he gave Teddie a run.

I believe no liquor stores in Connecticut are open on Sundays either. But it's funny how Northerners call the South backwards for having the same policy.

If you like Pataki and Riordan you'll love Mitt Romney

"I believe no liquor stores in Connecticut are open on Sundays either. " That's true. If you don't plan your Saturday errands properly up here, you have to head for Cow Hampshire on Sunday to get beer or hard stuff.

``Mitt Romney would be in an extraordinarily strong position to come into the state and trump Swift for the nomination of the Republican Party,'' said Herald pollster R. Kelly Myers. ``Jane Swift is now in a very vulnerable political position.''From Myers's lips to God's ears!! I would LOVE for Mitt to run against Jane Swift. From what I remember of his run against Kennedy, he's not as conservative as I might wish, but he's conservative enough! I would LOVE for someone to come in and run Jane Swift off; she's such a twit! Her NOT commuting the sentence of Gerald Amirault last week was the VERY last straw for me. He's the only one left in jail after the repudiations of all those trumped up 'day care abuse' trials in the 80's. That man should be home with his family, and if she didn't realize it with the reading of the court documents, she doesn't have the brains to fill a thimble!!
Come on home, Mitt!!

I live within 10 miles of New Hampshire, so the Liquor stores are open on Sunday in my town.
As far as Northerners calling Southerners backwords, I'll take your word for it but I can honestly say that I have never heard anyone I know make such a remark.
If it makes you feel any better, in my experiences I have found Southerners to be much more pleasant and hospitable that their Northern counterparts and would advise that you don't change a thing.

Ha, nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition or Teddy Kennedy. Both are spoofs, one gets elected.

I concede that point, on election day Teddy did get the graveyard vote as usual...;)(I wonder if the Blonde in the Pond voted for him that time too?). But there was a point in that election that Romney gave Kennedy a serious scare.

The only person in this Socalist hell hole that will keep the Republican right, in Mass, yes we do exist, from going for Carla Howell is Romney, provided either Rappaport or Card run as LT Gov. Remember, Vote for Silber and get The Clapp?
If the Republicans run that sodomite for LT Gov, the Lord could run and we could still lose.
