I believe no liquor stores in Connecticut are open on Sundays either. But it's funny how Northerners call the South backwards for having the same policy.

That's true. If you don't plan your Saturday errands properly up here, you have to head for Cow Hampshire on Sunday to get beer or hard stuff.

I live within 10 miles of New Hampshire, so the Liquor stores are open on Sunday in my town.
As far as Northerners calling Southerners backwords, I'll take your word for it but I can honestly say that I have never heard anyone I know make such a remark.
If it makes you feel any better, in my experiences I have found Southerners to be much more pleasant and hospitable that their Northern counterparts and would advise that you don't change a thing.

In the South, we don't need the liquor stores to be open.
A gallon of Feets' Own Alabama Thunderbolt may be purchased 24/7.
