Why would you go after the guy your wife cheats with? Chances are if it weren't him, it would be someone else. The problem is the cheater - not the current participant.

Its pointless to continue. Its obvious you an attitude and can't reason logically. If that what it means to be libertarian no wonder the party can't attract candidates or voters.

I haven't been able to get a concise and constructive understanding of the difference between Republican and Libertarian.

You're confused because Libertarians describe themselves, and then (some) conservatives and/or liberals contradict that by describing their silly fantasies about what they imagine Libertarians to be.

Listen to the former, not the latter.

For example, I'm against the War on Drugs for the same reason I think the Prohibition of alcohol was counterproductive and a huge waste. That does *not* mean that I'm a proponent of getting drunk *or* stoned, nor does it mean that I'm an alcoholic drug addict, but I've been accused of that countless times by conservatives who ought to know better. (In truth, a six-pack of beer lasts about half a year in my fridge, and I tried marijuana very briefly a quarter century ago.)

At the risk of me being flamed for hijacking this thread, can you or anyone try this in twenty five words or less?

Like any political or social philosophy, you can't do it justice in 25 words. This is a quick overview, though: http://www.cato.org/dailys/01-01-99.html

In short, and at the risk of grossly oversimplifying it, liberterianism is the belief that most things which government does today would be better handled through private or societal means. Using government to enforce, at the point of a gun, one-size-fits-all "solutions" (often in the absence of any real problem) all too often creates more messes than it cures.

I think many of these cheating women love their husbands but they do need an orgasm once in a while.

If the state or community regulates & controls it, as per Nevada, you don't find it on the street, or in the wrong neighborhoods.

This isn't rocket science. You sure you don't know this stuff from your 20 years at the cop shop?

Heh -- I posted this before I saw post #148. Consider it a sterling example of the sort of thing I was describing.

Really... I'd never turn down an opportunity to not wear my one carot diamond wedding ring.

Well that's the problem, you need a bigger ring.

I think that's right. You married guys should watch what your wives are up to at parties. A woman thinking about cheating can sometimes take a long time to work up to it. I once was at someone's home for an informal party. The host's brother, who was a bit of a sad sack, had a pretty young wife. They had just had a child. I was chatting away and being my usual friendly self when I suddenly noticed that the brother's wife was about two feet too close to me and smiling way too much. I walked away weirded out; turns out she ran away with her boss a few months later. I think she was doing a practice run on me.
