Unconfirmed reports of upgraded security at LaGuardia too.
To: codebreaker
I heard them a few minutes ago. They were loud and set the dogs to barking.

You know, maybe we should consider building bomb shelters like the Swiss have?

Where did the unconfirmed reports of LaGuardia come from?

Passengers going through security..

Where did you get this info....just seeing some planes is not breaking news.

Good grief, if I posted breathless updates everytime jets "scrambled" out of St. Louis Air National Guard base, there wouldn't be any bandwidth left for the "Why Men Cheat" threads.
Deep breaths, folks. This is routine now. Welcome to a post-9/11 world.

I don't think F15's can fly in a passive formation.
To: codebreaker
I heard them in Alexandria going south, away from the airport, almost an hour ago. This may, therefore, have happened more than once if our timing reports are accurate.

More than usual banking approaches..something is going on

Reports also of unusal changes in pasanger airlines approaches, is this normal?
To: Poohbah
Good question. They're armed, they're flying. Ergo, attack formation.
I saw two F-16 fly over my place on Saturday. They turned around and headed back the way the came. Since the Maxwell AFB transponder is only a mile or two away from my place, I guess they were using it to beacon. Nothing to wad your drawers up over.
They fly, they're armed, and they're up there folks. Thank God for it.

A case of nerves??? I live about 20 miles from Travis Air Force Base in California, but right along the approach for landing of the base's stationed aircraft (mainly C-5s and KC-10s). But every night approximately at 10:00, two F-16s come screaming over town, afterburners full on....It rattles the windows, but it's not a scramble -- just hotdog flyboy behavior. Can the "scramble" from Reagan Airport be the same?

I'm gonna jump in the shower now, keep me posted.

in attack formation. Chuckle, chuckle. I guess that means 3 out of 4 times I flew, I was in 'attack' formation. Learn something new every day.

Reports also of unusal changes in passanger airlines approaches, is this normal? Since 911, many airports have changed their lines of approach.
