I predict NBC, ABC, and CBS will focus on the villagers killed by error and the "disinformation" squabble, which apparently they are unwilling to understand.

Also..."when will we invade Iraq?"

Is it true that Evander Holyfield and Kim Gandy are going to duke it out?

an early morning gem....Fox in their 7am hour, had a female Dem consultant who was a good friend of Danny Pearl for many years..they had even dated for a little bit..she was their as a friend, to remember him, not in a political context...she was emotional, obviously, and blurted out once that she never read the WSJ until Pearl started writing there, because she was ( this is a direct quote) "Afraid of reading a right-wing newspaper"....

Agreed!

Good Morning all...

I just watched a little of C-Span, and they have Michael Weiskopf, Senior editor, TIME, on, haranging about ENRON. Again its as if they're trying to pin this business failure on the current Administration. (My estimation...)The old addage of the media trying to steer the things they think are newsworthy. Same old story.

Sorry to see ENRON employees lose out, but is anyone going to look at Daschle's grounding to a halt the stimulus package, that did not give relief to other businesses across the Country, which in turn went bankrupt?... (Rush's observation...)

Sheesh!

Well the one observation that just hit me is that there are NO Enron posts on either the "Breaking News or Front page" Side bars. Unless one of the Rats brings it up on one of these shows, it looks like the issue the Rats were banking on has drifted away.

Of course it has! The deeper they dug the more they realized how much Enron was a DIMOCRAT scandal!

Enron mess......"drifted away?" With eighteen, yes 18, congressional committees holding hearings? Dems are desperate for any traction, but you're right that their wheels are spinning.

I'm watching CNN's Reliable Sources. they have 2 Washington Post editors on, discussing their new book, The News About The News. Robert Kaiser and someone.
I can't find a review of the book but it sounds as if it might indict the network news. Frank Sesno defends CNN by saying their network does break stories, but they do it in real time, in the middle of the day which allows newsspapers to cover it in their afternoon editorial meetings.

"The old addage of the media trying to steer the things they think are newsworthy. Same old story."

This remark calls for one of my tangents. I can't help it. Its the track record of the media to use below the belt tactics to turn public opinion against republicans whenever possible. Remember Gerald Ford? They showed every misstep and awkward moment he had ad nauseum as though it were a blooper show. They made him into a joke to insure he wouldn't win reelection & it worked. Next came Dan Quayle. Every slip of the tongue (and granted, there were a few) became headlines for newspapers and led newscasts across the country. They turned the poor man into a buffoon. Remember being subjected to his "potatoe" gaffe for weeks on end? They made everyone fearful that he was a "heartbeat" away from the presidency.

And while I'm on a roll, remember them showing George Bush vomiting in Japan at the formal dinner? Showing repeated footage of that scene was extremely disrespectful of our president. Can you imagine the press doing the same thing to Clinton? Hell, most folks in the country didn't even know FDR was wheelchair bound for most of his presidency because the media adored him!

The most "in our face" example of media bias against republicans was the last election. The only people who poked fun at Forrest Gore were conservatives. He got a virtual pass on all of his idiotic environmental beliefs and most of his outright lies, not to mention being knee deep in scandalous corruption. One would have thought the media would have at least been tempted to publicize Gore's slumlord story, but they didn't dare.

Instead, the media deliberately painted GWB to be a spoiled rich kid with no brains, never mind that he graduated from college and earned a masters degree from two prestigious universities. He was even a pilot, for crying out loud! I would like to remind and compare everyone of Gore's "qualifying" and colorful background, but my fingers are getting tired.

Flip now to CNN, the discussion will continue.

I saw Weiskoff. He couldn't wait to say Global Crossing is a republican scandal too.

Just saw (one of) the evil bitch(es) of the Senate, give her b.s. take on judicial nominations ("when I nominate"?!?!?!). When the Republicans take control of the Senate again this fall, the very first thing Bush better push through is all of the open judicial spots, immediately. Rat bastards. "He was not elected with a mandate" my ass. HE WAS ELECTED - GET OVER IT!

Chewing on Ganett, saying the news agency is running themselves into the ground, for profit. Newspapers face a real crisis.

CNN reporters run from one breaking story to another without adding context. Sesno continues to defend CNN, says their reporters add context just by "running there". ?

Cable news air time is spent with too many talk shows.where opinion is passed off as news. BINGO!!!

Kurtz says online news does break stories, he suggests SALON does a good job. Sesno predicts the future of news will be online, even though now, money is the problem. He says WashPost.com is putting out it's own reporters to cover stories. Why he's lauding everything that a few years ago, the Washington Post was making fun of....Matt Drudge for one.

Now they're talking about cloning (Meet The Press). Feinstein just said, in the hypocritical statement of the year, that the people with the disabilities have the "right to life", and therefore should be done. What an outrage! Hey, you grinning bitch! What about the human life you are destroying in the process!!! Lord, these people make me mad!

Here's my general policy - if the Nazis did it, or laid the groundwork for doing it, then we shouldn't come near it. Period.

18 hearings ... or 18 rooms full of mastrubationists ... in either case nothing is born of it, except the dry winds of waste.

The media in doing that has fouled its own channel -- fewer to the few take their word for much but foderal anymore. It's been slow -- evidently the boy can cry "wolf!" hundreds of times before some folks disregard it, so potent is the desire for cries of "wolf" true or no.
