Nope. I'm a lifelong Iowan; all I had to do was overcome my Yankee education. I'd fly the Confederate flag myself, if I thought anyone would understand. But, folks around here think only a redneck, Aryan Nation, skinhead type would do such a thing.

I don't believe the Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia had anything to do with slavery; but there is no doubt it had to do with the separation of this country--you know the one we recite as "ONE nation under God, INDIVISIBLE with liberty and justice for all" when we say the pledge of allegiance.

So, the Pledge trumps the Constitution.

The bumper stickers all had to do with rednecks, racists (black and white) and perpetuation of an antebellum slave society. Do I have to be a redneck racist that believes slavery was the best thing to ever happen in America to be a conservative?

Fun thread. I don't have any bumper stickers, but I have one of those American flag clings in the window.

A guy friend of mine used to have this bumper sticker on his car - "No fat chicks!" I used to cringe every time I looked at it. He thought it was hilarious - no wonder he never got any dates.

Since Rush started this......I was wondering what Freepers have on their automobiles.

I just got a new car not too long ago, so it's fairly sparse... I have two inside-the-back-window banner stickers; "Eat My Voltage" (which came with the car) and "University of Michigan" from undergrad.

I want to make a bumper sticker with reads something like "Energy Independence Now!" and has a Bohr atom diagram or oil derrick or sunburst, or all three, on it. Anyone know how to make a single bumper sticker? Anyone have advice on phrasing, symbols, etc.? I think I'm going to order one of those Bush 2004 stickers from bushcountry.org.

Well, I have a bumper sticker that says, "America". It features an American Flag beside the word.

Since I only have one bumper sticker at a time, I chose to cover up my old bumper sticker that read, "Fight the Oppressive Leftist Establishment". I admit, I liked that one, and I have been asked from others where I got it. Others chuckled in agreement.
