Rush has a LIVE program on other stations (or the web) like KEEL 710 KHz out of Shreveport and KLBJ 590 KHz out of Austin, yet here in Big 'D' it is a 'best of' show.
Station mangle -er- management is off today too (817-695-1820) ...
They flub up a 'production' on the Rush Limbaugh from their end every so often - this is the biggest to date!
I'm darn glad I caught his show on KEEL starting at his normal eastern (noon) time ...
On another note, though, I had a strange experience listening to Rush today. I was in the car, driving around the Austin area running errands, and all of a sudden, KLBJ was replaced by a lot of static and a Mexican station in the back ground. It lasted for about 15 minutes--wonder what that was all about. Must be a conspiracy of some kind--LOL!
I lost KLBJ here too - at about 10 past the 2 O'clock hour.
Only lasted for 5, maybe ten minutes (enough time to finish 1 burrito!).
KLBJ has a habit of dropping out altogther or dropping back to their night-time power level (uisng their night-time transmitter perhaps when the BIG GUN hiccups?) - at which point they are noisy in the Dallas area.
And they won't answer e-mail inquiries as to what went wrong!
- the enginering ditzes at 820/WBAP/ABC ALSO run the 'Radio Dizzy' station at 620 KHz -
- and they CAN'T keep their Continental transmitter in tune (can't keep their modulation level trimmed properly actually) so as not to SPLATTER all over 590 KHz ... Jack Selmeyer (who originally designed, built, operated, then sold 620 KHz to Dizzy) used to do s FINE job of keeping those 5 KW Continental transmitters running cleanly ...
Uh, the title says "He's live elsewhere" not "He lives elsewhere." This post was trying to point out that a particular radio station screwed up by broadcasting a rerun (best of) show rather than the live show that was actually available. That is what was meant by "live."
Thank you for pointing it out...
(1) WBAP can pay more to Rush to run (or not to run:-)) his show at a delayed time than any other Dallas station could pay Rush to run the show LIVE? ---- Hello, KRLD???
(2) Dallas dittoheads PREFER not to be able to call-in to the show live???
(3) Is Rush the only big name radio show to be run on a delayed basis in Dallas?
(4) When I lived in College Station, there were THREE places to hear Rush, from WTAW, an Austin station, plus the Houston station.
(5) At least in Dallas, you can now hear the Savage Nation on 570 AM.
Big D bumpssssssss............
