The "Lord of the Rings" a blueprint for conservative Christians in America

Posted on 02/15/2002 6:01:20 PM PST by Michael2001

Like the people of Middle-Earth, the people of America are under attack. The values upon which our great nation was founded are under attack; the forces of the New World Order are mobilized, and we are under siege.

Like the people of Middle-Earth, those forces opposed to the New World Order (or Sauron in their case) are a very diverse peoples. In order to be victorious the people of Middle Earth had to put aside their petty differences; races with hundreds of years of hostile history (Dwarves and Elves for example) were forced to stop their bickering and unite against the common foe. In the same way, conservatives in America must unite in order to defeat our enemies.

There are two groups in this nation and the world that hate Christianity and seek to destroy it. They are the liberal elite (mainly made up of former Christians and Christians in name only) and radical Islam. One is more open about it then the other, but both are hostile elements.

Yet instead of uniting to stand up against our foes together, Christians prefer to bicker and fight amongst ourselves. On almost every issue of political importance Catholics and Baptists are in agreement, yet I still hear from certain family members, from people in my Church, and by Freepers that somehow the Catholic Church is the most dangerous force in America. This while Muslims flew planes into our buildings and the supposedly Southern Baptist Clinton and Gore committed atrocities too numerous to list.

As a Baptist (SBC), I would love it if America's 50 million Catholics converted and became Baptist tomorrow. However, I am also a realist, and I realize that is not very likely to happen. There will be no mass exodus from Catholicism. Unfortunately, there are not enough Southern Baptists in this country to defeat our enemies (there are a lot more liberals than Southern Baptists) So we have a choice, we can either take Catholics (and Mormons, and Jews, and Methodists etc.) as our allies, or we can watch as our enemies win election after election, corrupt our schools, and the boy scouts, and everything else that we hold dear.

This war against terrorism (or radical Islam) is greater than most people realize. These are the same people the Orthodox Christians in Serbia were and are fighting; these are the same people the Jews in Israel are fighting (I served for three years in the Israeli military, because I knew it would not be long before the same enemy came to American shores; guess how right I was?)

This is of course an oversimplification of the facts, and I am not the best of writers, but I hope my point is made clear. The people of Middle Earth put aside their differences in order to defeat an enemy that was a threat to them all, will the people of America do the same?

Who killed 3,000 Americans and then danced in the streets celebrating the fact? Who elected Clinton? Who is taking away your rights? Who is corrupting your schools? Who wants to take away your guns?-- I'll give you a clue, it's not the Catholics, it's not the Jews and it's not the Mormons.

Big bump from this Orthodox Christian. We need to work together, and we need to unite as Christians.

Hate to break the news but a majority of Jews and Catholics voted for Clinton.

this author agreed with you back sometime around 1990

The cultural schism between the Western and Eastern halves of European Christian civilization marked principally by their respective religious traditions, Roman Catholic and Protestant in the West and Orthodox in the East, may or may not prove fatal. One issue stands above all others in determining the outcome: the Islamic resurgence that has rapidly come to mark the post-Cold War era.

Some Christians see the Muslim influx primarily as an opportunity for evangelization, and indeed we should never neglect to share the Gospel, the only real liberation, with Muslims, who should not, as individuals, be held responsible for the violent system into which they were born and of which they are--perhaps more than anyone else--victims. At the same time, in light of the growing volume of Muslim immigration, Western Christians will soon find out--maybe sooner than they think, given Western birthrates--that confronting the Islamic advance has become, as it has always been for Eastern Christians, a simple matter of physical survival. But by that time, it may be too late for the West as well.

Adullah Abu Camel the mujahadin (fighter of the jihad) would happily lump together Catholics, Orthodox, evangelicals, and yes, even Mormons, for killing. All need to hang together, lest each hang separately.

Unity is unlikely to be had if the goal is to take the rings of power.

Destroy them instead.

Humanism is the enemy. Most latter-day Marxists refer to themselves as humanists. In fact, according to one Soviet thinker, humanism is the quintessential expression of Marxism-Leninism, the ultimate creed of Soviet man and woman. To sum up, humanism is satanism without ritual, an attempt to give meaning to synthetic man and woman; its end result being the death of the spirit.

Ditto to those who go nutso over the "magic" in C.S. Lewis's novels.

Just because they call themselves such doesn't mean they are. Clinton claimed to be Southern Baptist. As a Southern Baptist myself, I don't buy it.

The "Lord of the Rings" a blueprint for conservative Christians in America

At this rate, the overhyped Lord of the Rings will become the blueprint for the universe as well as the cure for dysfunctional liberals and impotency. Give it a break.
