Wow, so what's the point of this "warning"? ...to spread fear across the nation? Isn't that what the terrorist tried to do?

Maybe Al Queda does not have enough people for creating wide-spread panic and FBI is trying to help a bit?

The State Department responded, thanking her for her vigilance and expressing concern that her tip had not received more immediate attention

Government workers = Buffoons!

Fools... The purpose of the FBI is to harrass gun owners and pot smokers, not catch terrorists, let alone talk to mere commoners who *think* they see terrorists. Say, are there any more medical pot clubs in SF in need of raiding?

Sondra Perkins had just spent 10 days in Atlanta. While at Atlanta's airport waiting to board her flight back to Seattle, she noticed someone acting suspiciously.

She said she tried to report the suspicious activity to airport officials, but they did nothing.

I *gotta* believe that there is MORE to this story - we have ONLY heard one side so far ...

Finally, she tried the State Department's Rewards for Justice Tip Line, and sent them a photo she had taken of the man while he was on an escalator at Sea-Tac Airport.

She took a photo of the guy, and they did what? There is something really wrong about this story...I think this needs to be verified. I've got to fly next week and I'm getting really concerned the gov is without a doubt totally cockeyed on security.

I think she's better off calling Men In Black next time. What's the use of sending warnings to be vililant and watch for one another if there is no respond from the agencies that are supposed to respond to the calls?

Terrorist may have been spotted. FBI DID NOTHING

This isn't true, the FBI continued searching for another day or two, and then resumed looking for male whites between the ages of 25 and 55 that failed to pay enough money on their income taxes.

From: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/news/nation-world/html98/aidd_19990407.html

Is this the same Sondra Perkins mentioned in this story?

"The reports we are getting back from our workers there is that it's the most chaotic situation they've ever seen," said Sondra Perkins of Seattle-based World Concern.
and this from here:

WORLD CONCERN HELPS KOSOVO BRACE FOR THE LONG WINTER AHEAD

Seattle, WA - The people of Kosovo are not looking forward to the long, cold winter ahead. Seattle based World Concern, a Christian Relief and Development Agency, announced today plans to feed 5,000 people per day to help thousands of Kosovars survive the first winter in their war ravaged homeland. The complimentary Food Kit program will last for six months, according to spokesperson Sondra Perkins. Distribution will begin October first.

She may be a bit of an activist and could use the publicity - if it's the same person ...

One women claims to have seen someone who may have been one of the men...and the news team calls this a story? How did this woman know what the FBI did with her information? She has no clue what they know. The press is truly, dangerously immature and inflammatory these days.

As for the DOJ warnings, it's clear that this administration has more faith in the American people than many people deserve. They should expect the help of the American people. Truckers, store owners, etc., are keeping their eyes open. I for one am glad that they see us as capable and willing to help, not as the left sees us...as helpless and needy. How can you let a terrorist alert frighten you into outrage after witnessing the attacks on 9-11, learning about the terrorist monsters and knowing how many people are risking their lives to protect us both overseas and here at home? I am grateful to never have to sit in on one of the President's daily terrorist briefings and the roster of inhuman threats from our enemies. A few hours at a militant Muslim website, along with the State Dept's record of specific terrorist attacks is enough to give me nightmares and understand the seriousness of our fight. To be responsible for all Americans, and to be commanded by faith to love his neighbors is a burden few of us could handle.

We are the people.

What would you expect the FBI to do? Scream "Oh my God!" over the phone when she called them?
They may have listened just fine, checked it out via undercover, and it was a false lead.

Because the FBI didn't try to make this person a national hero doesn't mean they didn't do their job.

So ok, the war against terrorism and our great government didn't get the terrorist this time. But those sharp airline flight attendants and sky marshalls DID manage to snag that guy on the airliner who went to take a pee during the "unallowed" 30 minute time period. And they DID make ALL of the rest of the passengers hold their hands over their heads for the entire rest of the flight. The defense rests :)

HERE IS ANOTHER ONE, AND NOTHING WAS DONE TO STOP THEM!!!! Saturday Feb. 23, 2002 Adrian, Michigan Daily Telegram Man on FBI watch list spotted By David Panian Daily Telegram Staff Writer ADRIAN -- A man on the FBI's terrorist watch list due to his suspected ties to the Iraqi Army was under surveillance by local police detectives while he and another man picked up unknown materials from an Adrian chemical plant. A Michigan State Police report said the Adrian post's detective was joined by detectives from the Adrian Police Department and the Lenawee County Sheriff's Department in surveillance of the men, who share a New Hudson address, after a semitrailer he was driving was pulled over Tuesday afternoon. The Adrian post's motor carrier officer pulled over the tractor-trailer for driving 74 mph in a 55 mph zone at 12:40 p.m. on M-52 near Munger Road, the report said. The driver, identified as Ali Mahdi Allamme, 26, had a temporary driver license and an Iraqi passport. The passenger, Ady Mohsen Ali, 26, had a normal, plastic driver license and told the officer he was training the driver. The men were in a vehicle registered to an Oklahoma man and were pulling a trailer registered to a New Jersey container leasing company, the report said. A records check showed a warning from the FBI that Allamme is suspected of being a member of a terrorist organization, the report said. According to the report, the driver told the officer he thought he was going 50 mph. The officer was shown that the trailer was empty, but when he asked where they were going, the passenger said something to the driver in a language other than English. The two then became evasive, the report said. The officer called for the post detective to conduct surveillance of the men. He then wrote Allamme a speeding ticket for going 74 mph in the 55 mph zone and let him go. The detective began his surveillance of the men, following them in an unmarked car, the report said. He was joined by detectives from the Adrian police and Lenawee County Sheriff's Department. They watched as the men went to the Anderson Development Co., in Adrian, and picked up a shipment. They then followed them as they left the county eastbound on U.S. 12 at 4:06 p.m. where they ended their surveillance per instructions from the FBI. Michigan State Police Sgt. Greg Sebring said officers were told by FBI investigators that Allamme was a member of the Iraqi Army during the Gulf War and was one of the thousands of Iraqi soldiers who surrendered to United States and coalition forces.
