We'll call it what you want. How about, "Celebration for a dead thread?"

You're 1000% correct on all points.

Jim certainly can't be at the controls all the time, but his Mods are doing a very poor job of controlling their bias/favortism.

Hopefully it's a work in progress, and things will improve.

As for the commies posting? Yeah, it seems like there are more of the loony libs showing up- get rid of them, but don't ask conservatives to remain mum about conservative candidates or officials that are blowing it and could use some constructive criticism...

The last thing conservatives need is to go into the la la land of Politically Correct baloney--- "oh deary me, don't criticize a candidate's political tactics or strategy because someone might get offended.."

Old Communist.

An interesting name to use, when posting to a Conservative venue, dedicated to the preservation of traditional American values.

Of course, Nazis were the ideological first cousins of Communists, however the two groups used each other as convenient foils to manipulate the thinking of the susceptible sorts that each targetted respectively. (See The Lies Of Socialism.) You make no point, at all, calling us Nazis--those are your "friends," not ours. (Ever see the pictures of just how comfortable Uncle Joe and the Fuerhrer were together in their early 1939 meeting?)

For the rest of those following this thread: It is a shame that this has to be repeatedly reposted. The little nasty doctrinal wars that some would rather pursue with other Conservatives or Libertarians, than actually engage the enemy--those who would destroy the fundamentals of traditional America--why don't you pause long enough to consider how much energy gets wasted, trying to force the individualistic types on our side to all see the battle the same way? We lose, because we deal with an enemy that is always willing to make narrow alliances of the moment, to advance a broad agenda. When we are too snooty to make common cause even with those on our side with whom we may disagree on other issues, we place ourselves in an impossible position.

And this goes no less for those who feel that they somehow impress the uncommitted by trying to police the committed, by applying nasty labels to them. It simply does not work that way. With a little more tolerance among ourselves, we would be much more likely to reach the uncommitted.

How on earth can you not "criticize" a conservative candidate on their election strategy policy in hopes they would improve it...

There is a mountain of difference between criticizing an election strategy and impugning the motives, character, sincerity, etc., of one on our side. Indeed, surely you can see the difference between fair criticism and trashing someone with whom you agree on 70% of the issues, but have some difference on one or two major questions?

The most obvious examples of the last point, are those who start wars by insulting Pat Buchanan, Harry Browne or Alan Keyes, over their stands on isolate issues, without recognizing that they reflect legitimate points of view in our more general orbit of beliefs. The energy wasted on the exchanges in some of those threads could be far, far better directed at the Left!!

I know that there are a lot of people out there that agree with you. But there are those who don't too. And that doesn't mean those that don't agree are correct.

Let me ask you something. What is a commentary or an editorial other than a vanity? Yet we post those all the time. And what's more, we jump up and down and hoot and holler if they agree with us. If they don't we trush 'em for it.

From my point of view the commentary or editorial articles posted on FR are as valid as any published vanity. We have tens of thousands of people come here. Our vanities are published on this forum.

Look, if you guys want to say that a one line vanity making some vapid statement is wrong, I'll agree with you 100%. The meandering single paragraphs drive me nuts. Even the full page incoherant piece is fair game for the bone-yard as far as I am concerned. But if a person takes time to write down some coherant thoughts that lead to a well said conclusion, I'm all for it.

Why did this forum get created? It got created because the leftists had taken over the major media outlets in the nation. It got created to further the voices of conservative thought in this nation. Is it now our goal to stiffle those voices in favor of only posting the thoughts of that voice from the major media outlets? Is it our goal to only allow approved conservatives have a voice? I think not. It should be our goal to allow the well voiced opinion of the commen man, as long as they're not too commnon, if you catch my drift.

I'm not on a cruisade here. But I do think we need to think this through. Those that don't want to hear the vanities can restrict that category on their browsers. And I fully support those vanities that aren't posted in the proper category to be deleted at once!

This is Jim's forum. Jim's vision will rule. And if he feels differently than I on this topic, it is to his opinion we will rally. That is as it should be.

Yep. We waste a lot of time discussing whether Buchanan is a racist or not, and completely disregard millions of illegals coming across our borders every year.

Hitler came up with the idea for the Volkswagen. Hey, the guy will go down as one of the most evil men in history. Does that mean that a good idea isn't a good idea?

I don't believe Buchanan to be a racist at all, but people don't get past their loopy hatred of the guy to look at his ideas. That's their problem, not his.

We focus on something that isn't even real, then dismiss everything else about people. Folks, that's character assasination. It's not intellectual and it's terribly destructive.

I really like George Bush. I think he's a descent man. I like his wife and think he has some great daughters. But policy after policy is surfacing that I detest. That doesn't mean I have to hate the man. We need to be above that. I'd like to think we could be some day.

While we're at it the reverse is true. If we like someone, that doesn't mean that every one of their policies is the smartest policy in human history. The Bushbots should open their eyes, every bit as much as those who dislike him should. The issues should stand on their own merits.

Over and out...
