Has anyone else noticed.......
Since moving to Atlanta, I've started listening in the a.m. to Neal Boortz whilst waiting for Rush's program.
Neal is usually interesting, but he's all over the map. Rush is much more focussed, even with golf, cigars, and football.
Rush IS NOT trying to acome across like Bill O'Reilly - up from a lower-middle class family. Rush has always spoken of his background, and has NEVER claimed to be "deprived".
But Rush also speaks as someone who was a college dropout, and went out on his own. His parents didn't support him. He tried a variety of jobs . . .and he worked his way up. His boot-straps - if any - is the going from a college drop-out to many different jobs (and most he was fired from) ... to doing the Sacramento job where he could really do what he wanted, and how he wanted. He was "discovered" by Roger Ailes ... who got Rush to go National, got Rush to move to New York, got Rush syndicated. Roger felt that the brash and audacious local talk show guy would be very successful... and the rest is, as they say, HISTORY.
So Rush worked for his success, trying to do what he had a passion for. And Rush states that his failures were when he was doing something that others wanted, but he didn't have a passion for.
And I have heard Rush be critical of MANY Republicans who fail to stand up for principle.
Perhaps some of those who claim Rush isn't critical of Republicans and never challenges the "party line" need the hearing aids more than he needs them!!!
Mike
note that i did not use your word "rich".
this is allowed by the u.s. constitution.
The guys I like are Roger Fredinburg, Michael Savage, and Chuck Harder. They are common-man Reagan conservatives in my mind. Rush is more aligned with the Bush and the big money globalists who have taken over the party.
Does anyone know which team is projected to win using the environmentalist whacko pick formula? I figure it has to be the Rams, because they are an animal fighting against the Patriots, who are evil, capitalist Americans who do nothing but ravage Mother Earth.
Let's see Rush always talks about what's happening in the here and now. Superbowl is this weekend and Rush has just had his hearing adjusted. Seems right on target to me.
Nothing like a wake up call from God to make you consider your blessings afresh!
John's getting a little long in the tooth.
Rush talks about what he wants to talk about. That's the program. If you don't want to hear about what Rush wants to talk about, then don't listen.
I think he is still effective.
In fact you still see scumbag Democrat mice posting derogatory things about Rush right here on Free Republic from time to time. It's always a good indication that the scumbag Democrats are still as afraid of Rush as they are of the truth.
Regards,
LH
I fully agree with both of you! We are certainly in the minority on this thread and in the U.S. Nonetheless, the evidence is there for anyone who wants to look at it, that we are steadily and consistently losing our freedoms. Now I know why humans have always lived under oppression -- without real freedom. If even the most intelligent and informed among us (as many Freepers are) can be blinded by propaganda and indoctrination, as well as by their own denials of reality, then there is little hope that "We the People" can hold on to freedom any longer. When liberty in America completes its fall, freedom in the world will never be known again, save for the elite global ruling class.
But we do not have to be among the majority to be correct in our views. Remember, fewer than a third of the American colonists supported the Revolution and only 5% actually fought the King's soldiers. Yet, look what that minority accomplished -- the greatest, most free and prosperous civilization in human history. Sadly the 200+ year "experiment" in freedom is drawing to its close.
