you just summed up the klintoon legacy, very sad and despicable indeed. somalia was always cited by osama as the symbol of our weak resolve and cowardice. thanks, bill. stick with getting hummers next time, you traitor!

From the MSNBC Website:
Feb. 1 The fate of a kidnapped Wall Street Journal reporter was thrown into question Friday when a caller to the U.S. Consulate in Pakistan demanded ransom for his release, but an e-mail sent to the newspaper claimed he had been executed. U.S. officials told NBC News they had no independent way of corroborating the e-mail, which said Daniel Pearls body could be found in the graveyards of Karachi.

I am getting a funny feeling about this....could this be a ruse by another group to get the US to react to false information? They are now saying (as stated above) that all other correspondence was done via email to the WSJ but now this "phone call" demanding ransom has come in, and that is (obviously) not the norm. So they just don't know and although I agree that he took a risk, I don't agree with some of the posters here who say that he deserved to die for doing this. I would like them to tell that to his unborn child and wife in PERSON.

They've done all their communication to the WSJ by e-mail. Read the stories. I know that. It's still odd that they'd send an email about this.
What would the point be? Don't bother working on the concessions we demanded? To give the family a little advance notice before the body is found?

Of course the dogs of that cesspool called a nation killed the American journalist--that's what they intended all along. Now the pregnant French journalist with the light-hearted grin won't have her "dialogue".

As much I despise CNN, they are much closer to this story than the other news outlets.
Thanks. I didn't know that, but I also don't trust CNN. I changed to FOX News Channel 1.5 years ago when I found out their reporting was much more balanced and truthful. I also don't scream at the TV as much as I used to! :o)

Oh, you're right. How stupid of me to think that anyone's life is of some sort of value, especially a reporter's. /sarcasm OFF.

posters here who say that he deserved to die for doing this. Nobody said he "deserved to die." They said he made a very unwise move. He should have considered the consequences of his actions. Nobody wishes him dead. Nobody. Nothing more.

The reporter on MSNBC said that the 'new' email contained the same email address as the previous three that had been received...

All that will happen....but not until the enchore to 9/11 happens. Americans still don't get it. They still want to Kumbayah with our muslime brothers and sisters.
To: Dog Gone
I think maybe they (if IT'S TRUE) maybe just got tired (or got an order) and killed him, regardless of what they said. Kidnappers and/or terrorists aren't exactly known for their patience. It is strange though...it's always been "24" hours and the demand was to release the Pakistani prisoners in GITMO..but I don't remember them asking for money in the other emails. Did I miss that?
