Ex-principal found to have fathered 14 year-old student's child wants to return to teaching

A former East St. Louis principal will try Friday to get back into teaching - despite evidence that he impregnated a 14-year-old girl while he was an assistant principal.

Joseph Hayes, of Swansea, will appeal a five-year suspension of his teaching and administrative certificates handed down last year. The state teacher certification board could decide the same day whether to grant the request, said Lee Milner, spokesman for the state board of education.

hmmmmm. East St. Louis (in Illinois) is the "bad part of town" from what I know about it. Maybe there is some good parts of East St. Louis, but I sure don't know about any of it.

A jury cleared him of the charges two years later...(1988??).....But in 1999, DNA evidence led a judge to rule in a paternity suit that Hayes was the father of the student's child.

14 years old. That poor girl. This man should never be allowed around children ever again.

But wait, if the boy was 14 and the teacher was hot, we would have the usual suspects showing up congratulating the kid.

Of course he wants to teach again. How else is he gonna get dates?

Just bear in mind that many thought it outrageous that a female teacher who got pregnant TWICE by a student who she started s****ing when he was twelve--once before her arrest and once AFTER she had been incarcerated and was paroled--was imprisoned in the first place since the kid's mother didn't mind.

The double standard in situations like this is palpable.
