From 1993 to 2000, I dreaded this night. It pained me to realize that one so unworthy as Clinton would be basking in the glow of the fawning media spotlight, with so many of my fellow citizens not even having a clue as to what the First Felon was truly all about. The day after the SOTU would invariably bring out a plethora of media polls confirming what a great president Slick was, as approval numbers soared even higher. This was especially difficult to swallow in 1998, the Year of Monica. I can recall the sunken feeling in my heart to have these polls rammed down my throat as if they were designed to convince me (and a few other hold-outs) that I too, should pay homage to the Great One.
Tonight, however, is a different story! It has been many years since I eagerly awaited a SOTU speech. I no longer feel disgust when I hear the presidents voice, as I did from 1993 to 2001. I believe in GWB we have a leader of integrity who will lead us through these difficult times. No longer am I ashamed to talk to my small children about the President of the United States. Once again, the occupant of the Oval Office is a man who I respect. What a wonderful feeling!

Timeliness before Godliness.

Brilliant! Don't think the media caught it, at least not the talking head on the major networks.

May God stand beside GW this evening and hold him with His righteous hand. And may this speech bring glory and honor to Him. God bless America!

From 1993 to 2000, I dreaded this night. Same here, but I had a great remedy to get me through that long, long torture. I'd have my boys take off their dirty socks, roll them up and then throw them at Clinton's ugly-ass mug. You should see how respectful my boy's are THIS year.

I ditto everything you have said. I am sure Clinton is watching this tonight on his TV thinking that he could do a better job! The most disgusting thing he did during one of his State of the Union speeches was to mouth "I love you" to her heinous. Made me sick. Funny thing, she is still sitting in that room and he is not.

Any shots of HilLIARy smirking yet?

Hard for me to imagine anyone else in office at this time; I believe he really loves this country more than himself.

The whole speech was broadcast here in New Zealand on CNBC which is on SKY. I hoped to hear the WSJ commentary after the speech but, not surprisingly some liberal criticized every work Bush said. Moving over to CNN, the had J Woodruff; and BBC had the Brookings response. It's no wonder everyone here things so little of Bush. Just like on college campuses, this place needs a little diversity of political thought. Currently the only such available is communism and socialism. Thank GOD for Internet!

Seems most times they showed the (inaudible) she was clapping like an automaton. A repeat of her earlier performance.
Ted K looked downright sober, but I think I caught a glimpse of him sipping Chivas through the straw of his Big Gulp glass.
Helms looked a bit frail, ill. Anyone else notice this?
Finally, our President reminded me of Ronald Reagan. He was just that great. I think he'd make Ronnie proud.
