The point I was trying to make, and obviously unsuccessfully, was that relatives of powerful people rarely suffer the same consequences as commoners do. I didn't express myself properly, I guess, but that pales in comparison to your labeling me as a probable (sp?) despicable parent.

I am sorry that I confused you with the DU types around here, and apologize for my remarks about your parenting.

I disagree with you in your main point, in that the Bush children seem to get more severe punishment than most of their peers would, and this is likely no exception.

Whats your point this was intended to be a Republic not a democracy...

Hm. Seems to me we've been electing our representatives right along. What have you seen?

...but then they let everyone vote regardless of qualifications.

So you think we should...what? Bring back the poll tax? Only allow white landowners with more than $1 million net worth to vote? What?

Then they had Senators directly elected and decided they could ignore the Constituition.

Again, not sure where you're getting this. They AMENDED the Constitution to change the way the Senators were elected. Not sure where you get "ignore the Constitution" from that, since a) the Constitution specifically allows itself to be amended, giving certain criteria for accomplishing it, and 2) the correct procedure was followed.

Yes, I am well aware that you kneeejerks love to pontificate about how "the Constitution isn't being followed" but then I notice you set yourselves up as the sole arbiters of what is and what is not Constitutional--even though the Constitution gives the Judiciary the right to do that and, so far as I can determine, that is the procedure we've been following since Marbury.

Note that I am not saying that I myself always agree with them, but so long as they do things legally, you have no case (pun intended).

You social conservatives are just big government liberals of a diffrent king in my opinion.

Amazing how you seem to know so much about me--(NOT).

I am glad he is allowed to post here. It shows us something about the opposition. I still can't believe he won't clear the record about the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut. I can't believe that a teacher anywhere in this nation could believe that. It takes a really special kind of RAT.

Apology accepted.

I will agree that the press never misses an opportunity to trash the Bush kids; especially as compared to Clinton and Gore's kids' it's shameful. But what punishment has been metted (sp?) out to the Bush kids in greater amount than other children in similar circumstances? It's a serious question on my part, because I really don't know that much about the lives of the Bush kids.

As I mentioned in another post; even if the worst case scenario proves true here, millions of young adults (including myself) have been on the wrong track, and have found their way back home, so to speak. It's a parable and a truth as old as time; so however this situation unfolds, I wish her and her family the best.

First the twins are arrested for public drunkenness, now little Dumbya's niece is arrested for a substance abuse problem.

As outraged American taxpayers, we all should be calling for Dumbya's resignation, or at least a leave of absence for several months, until he cleans up the problems in the substance-abusing, dysfunctional Bush family.

======================================================

You are priceless. We really need people like you on this forum for comic relief. When our president sexually assaults a woman in the White House; when he is having sex with a government employee less than half his age during business hours and in the federal workplace; when he tries to fix a federal sexual harassment lawsuit and not allow a woman to have her day in court; when he intimidates witnesses; when he shows up with a olive-gray reddish bulbous nose; when an intern is servicing him while talking about life and death of our military with a congressman; when her commits multiple instances of perjury; when he lies to all his aides who then go out and embarrass themselves for him in public; then I will call him dysfunctional. Until then, you remain one of our little jokes on FR.

Well, yeah. Which of the Bush clan, except the President, would YOU want to face if you were guilty as sin?

I want Barbara Bush to administer the same ass-beating that she undoubtedly laid on young Jenna when she uh, messed up.

Young lady, you bend over this bed and put your face in that pillow...

Then again, I admit this is a kinda different situation than some kid trying to sneak a margarita with her tacos.

1 million net worth sounds good would totally neutralize the commie class warfare arguements of the dems if only the upper class could vote.

You're dreaming, summer. That is not a "drowsy" look brought about by the early morning hour, as weegee avers, but the strung-out look of an addict. It's a very damning photo.

We're lucky that she didn't get her prescription filled as if she's that much in need of a fix, she'd probably pop a couple once she got them in her hands (and she was in a drive-thru; obviously driving)...

And I do think the press is leaping on this with glee right from comparing xanax to heroin,

Even the rats at DUh seemed taken back by that stretch by the media. I guess that they didn't want to have to explain to their parents that they didn't go on heroin after the 2000 election, it was just an anxiety medication named Xanex...

Let's face it, she's an adult in the eyes's of the law, and short of locking her in a room, she gets to call the shots in her life.

If she was a Kennedy, then her old man could have given her a lobotomy...

If they broke the law, punish them by the law.

If some decided to rape now and then, you don't say, "Well, we can't stop that, so go rape at will".

If they do illegal stuff, they need to pay the piper.

We need more reponsibility in this country. We don't need people to throw up their arms because some addicts want to do drugs or because kids want to do dumb things! (As an example)

As far as getting Janet Reno elected, this might have just done it.

These kids of the Bush's seem the most irresponsible and selfish kids in present time. They are also pretty stupid considering who their parents are!

I hope Pete Bush stays clean. That kid could easily be a future President. A probable good one.

Recognizing you have a problem is the first step to resolving it. This happened to GWB over 10 years ago.

Bill Clinton still hasn't acknowledged his problems as a sex addict.

What in the hell are you teaching our children? Do Boston teachers get their teaching credentials out of a freaking cereal box?

After selling copies of The Daily Worker at the Government Center T-stop for 4 years, you earn a teaching certificate in Boston... < /sarcasm >
