You're convinced of her guilt? I'm still not sure, there are still too many unanswered questions.

Jeb Bush himself actually said she was guilty.

If the arrest report on the website notated above is legit I would say she did it. Sad.

Seems to me we ought to make a list of politicos and their families with drug and alcohol probs. Lets see. Kitty Dukaikis, Ted Kennedy, Michael Kennedy, Michael Skakel, Betty Ford, Roger Clinton, LBJ"S brother,,any more I missed?

Several members of the Carter family (no, not the musical "Carter Family", Kimmy's clan).

"I find the behavior of so many in the Bush clan to be abhorrent and poor examples for our youth."

LOL.... thats pretty good. Yes our youth need better role models than Noelle or Jena Bush. Wonder how many youth even know Noelle and Jena exist, when most couldn't even tell you the name of the vice president? Anyway, just for laughs, who do you think should be role model for the nations youth? The Clintons perhaps?

Either a lack of attention from the dads or an IQ problem with the girls.

Lack of attention from the dads? Why would you develop such a theory? Do you know something about their intra-family relationships?

Not to make an excuse for her; she's clearly got a serious problem that needs to be dealt with. But I'll bet this sort of thing happens to a governor's/senator's/representative's/mayor's - take your pick - kid far more often than you think. (It's probably usually dealt with much differently, too.) It goes right under the radar screen. This is only a big deal because she's the daughter of a Bush brother. The media is going nuts.

I thought that too but apparently it happened earlier today.

So much for all the Conspiracy Theories jumping all over this story at FR. She (apparently) committed a crime, and the press got the story from the cops. Everyone was doing their job.

This is directed at the media, not at you on your first post. (BTW, bumpin for your first), but ain't this a big non-issue?Noelle Bush was elected to what, exactly?

I hope this doesn't ruin my spotless record of public disdain for politicians, but this really has diddly to do with the President or the Governor of Florida.

Shame on the news media. Reporters who break this as "news" need to try to borrow a life from someone who has one.

Yup. My favorite part is how so many people in favor of the War on Drugs are all of a sudden saying that Xanax isn't that big a deal, and that maybe Noelle should get some therapy, but no way should SHE have to go to jail... Where are all the zero-tolerance folks now?

It would seem that she already had a presciption but faked a phone call to renew it. A bit more patience could have found her a doctor willing to dole out more prescriptions if her doctor refused. Barring that option, someone already posted a number of links to obtain Xanex without a prescription.

The fraud committed appears to be a new level of desperation for her.

The only case I recall hearing of a celeb faking prescriptions was Dano Plato who already had a criminal record including armed(?) robbery.

I don't know what the standard punishement is for a 3rd degree felony of this sort (first offense).

Different mitigating circumstances (especially in her legal past) will determine whether she serves any jail time.

This arrest could point to an increasing problem in her life, it could be the only time she got caught, or it could have been a fluke. Early to say.

As far as Chelsea being irrelevant, there is an article in today's Chicago Tribune-- "Is there a Clinton dynasty in our future?" It says that "Given the news photos of a glamozied Chelsea" she "could be the third Clinton in line for high office."

Well, call me a cynic, but I have no doubt in my mind that her family name will have one heckuva lot more to do with her serving any time than her legal past...

Their uncle is a recovering alcoholic. The president. Perhaps you've heard of him? His daughters seem to be rather heavy drinkers themselves, at such tender ages.

George W. Bush used to drink. He quit. Was he an alcoholic? I believe that's your guess.

Why would you describe the Bush girls as "heavy drinkers"? Do you have some evidence of that? And even if they were, is that so unusual for college age kids...you know, "tender"?

"I use it as a "sleepy pill"....and NO, I ain't checkin myself into a drug rehab. Being addicted to FR, though, that's another story :~)"

I have had a prescription for it as well and a doctor who even prescribed it far more liberally than I needed. Sometimes I never even filled the scripts. In fact, I still have probably 20-30 doses left from the last time I filled it which was about a year ago. I take it only rarely. However, the drug hasn't yet been invented to break my addiction to FR.

Police said the arrest involved the anti-anxiety drug Xanax, a sedative that can become addictive and is often abused for its heroin-like effect of slowing the brain down.

First time I've seen it compared to heroin. I've always seen it compared to Valium.

Certainly is a scary way to lead off an article.

It should be noted that Dr. Noel Scidmore is a radiation oncologist, according to various medical websites.
