Either a lack of attention from the dads or an IQ problem with the girls.

Lack of attention from the dads? Why would you develop such a theory? Do you know something about their intra-family relationships?

Not to make an excuse for her; she's clearly got a serious problem that needs to be dealt with. But I'll bet this sort of thing happens to a governor's/senator's/representative's/mayor's - take your pick - kid far more often than you think. (It's probably usually dealt with much differently, too.) It goes right under the radar screen. This is only a big deal because she's the daughter of a Bush brother. The media is going nuts.

Do you really think that these girls had no other sources of these substances than the extremely crude and obvious ways in which they publicly attempted to get them?

Do you not think W's daughter could not have had busloads of Texan boys dying to buy her case after case of beer surreptitiously?

Do you not think that Jeb's daughter could not have scored some valium or Xanax from a friend or just gotten a prescription for anxiety medication, legitimately, as I posted before?

Usually your typical substance abuser is cagier than these two girls.

That's why I think they have done this to gig their respective fathers for attention, or hostility, or both.

I really doubt they are both so dumb that they cannot score routinely available substances without making a spectacle of themselves.

It's all so cheesy, when you consider that they are living on college campuses, where tons and tons of companions would procure whatever for them.

Going to an uptight pharmacist and phoning in a bogus prescription is just so conspicuous.
