I heard on FOXNEWS this morning that her family's home in Gary, Indiana, was ransacked during her funeral.
I hope the PD gets on this with a vengeance!!
May she rest in peace.

Whenever your kids are out of control, you can take comfort in the thought that even God's omnipotence did not extend to God's kids. After creating heaven and earth, God created Adam and Eve. And the first thing said to them was:
"Don't."
"Don't what?" Adam replied.
"Don't eat the forbidden fruit," God said.
"Forbidden fruit? We got forbidden fruit? Hey, Eve...we got Forbidden fruit!"
"No way!"
"Yes WAY!"
"Don't eat that fruit!" said God.
"Why?"
"Because I'm your Creator and I said so!" said God, wondering why he hadn't stopped after making elephants. Just a few minutes later God saw the kids taking an apple break and was angry.
"Didn't I tell you not to eat that fruit?" the First Parent asked.
"Un huh," Adam replied.
"Then why did you?"
"I dunno," Eve answered.
"She started it!" Adam said. "Did not!" "Did so!" "DID NOT!"
Having had it with the two of them, God's punishment was that Adam and Eve should have children of their own. Thus the pattern was set and it has never changed, though there is reassurance in this story. If you have persistently and lovingly tried to give children wisdom and they haven't taken it don't be hard on Yourself. If God had trouble handling children, what makes you think it would be a piece of cake for you?

We're scheduled for a dose of reality about Wednesday. Highs in the single digits, lows about -5. Bring it on!
Consider yourself at home
Consider yourself part of the family
Dusty old helmet, rusty old gun,
They sit in the corner and wait -
Two souvenirs of the Second World War
That have withstood the time, and the hate.
Mute witness to a time of much trouble.
Where kill or be killed was the law -
Were these implements used with high honor?
What was the glory they saw?
Many times I've wanted to ask them -
And now that we're here all alone,
Relics all three of a long ago war -
Where has freedom gone?
Freedom flies in your heart like an eagle.
Let it soar with the winds high above
Among the spirits of soldiers now sleeping,
Guard it with care and with love.
I salute my old friends in the corner,
I agree with all they have said -
And if the moment of truth comes tomorrow,
I'll be free, or By God, I'll be dead!

Here's lookin' atcha Billie and Thanks.
I don't know this young lady, but I sure am proud of her.
Thanks for the support
I graduated from Davis High School on June 14. On July 2, the second anniversary of my residence in Salida, I left home for Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, for Air Force basic training.
I came back for recruiter's assistance on Oct. 30, returning for the first time since the horrible Sept. 11 tragedy. When I got back to the Modesto area, I couldn't help but notice and be surprised by how well the community seemed to have taken pride in the United States and how interested and grateful people all were toward those who serve in our armed forces.
I saw the U.S. flag everywhere! It was beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes. When I was in uniform, strangers came up to me and introduced themselves to me, thanking me for serving in the military and wishing me good luck in the future and in life!
Visiting home and having met those people made me realize exactly how proud I am to be in the Air Force. I'd really like to thank everyone in Modesto and Salida for bringing me to this realization. I'd also like to tell them to keep up the great work in sticking together as a community. I'm very proud and happy to be able to serve you all in the world's greatest Air Force.
One more testimony that the messages we send are read and appreciated.
Keep those cards and letters coming folks!
Pause for a moment, to remember the family,
Who for liberty, freedom and our security,
Endure many a hardship and separation.
Which serve to bond them closer to their Nation.
These bonds are true, no mere artifice.
Which is the measure of their sacrifice.
Engendered by a love for their country.
If you don't believe, ask Mrs. Bixby.
Remember them
mothers, wives, children, all.
Their loved one's gone when they hear the call.
These silent patriots, yet they're always there.
So for the military family say a prayer.
