Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.
And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?
And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.
And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. I do not want it on Free Republic. Any current FR poster who believes this leftist propaganda, please logoff immediately, send me your resignation via email, and I will delete your account.
Thanks,
Jim

"We are constantly bombarded with every liberal fanatic assault on our lives and our war efforts - even by Fox. "
Thank You! I was begining to think I was the only one that saw Fox becoming more liberal and hindering the war effort.
Even O'Reilly this week was saying what a good job hitlery was doing in NY cleaning the air pollution at Ground Zero.
He never even mentions prosecution of her or klinton for their crimes anymore.

You can believe that if you like. I don't see the government as evil. I see some evil people in government.

It's Reagan's 11th commandment.
Thou shall not speak ill of another Republican, (or conservative).
Reagan also said, if you agree with someone 80% of the time, you're both on the same side of most issues. Reagan believed in fighting Democrats and keeping peace for the most part, within the Republican Party.

Hello swheats! We will just have to keep an eye on all these ultra liberal, anti-America media people. They are the enemy in disguise, ignorant or the results of years of teaching by ultra liberal teachers in our schools. They do more to form the "hate America" agenda around the world than our actions do.
I was going to add a neat eyeball gif and was proud that I had one I could send to you. Went to get it and of course it was no where to be found. I never am able to quickly add something to anything I do.

I can take it a step further. The congressional district I live in is mostly democrat yet for years we had Jay Dickey as a rep. He lost last year to a democrat and my mission was to follow Mike Ross like a hound dog on his voting record. I discovered that Ross joined the blue dogs and his record is not all that bad. In fact I would say about 80% ok.
Now I have a decision to make. Do I shut up and let sleeping blue dogs lie or try to get him defeated and replaced by yet another democrat who will likely not be a blue dog. Oh well....................

You've been here for TWO days, and already you're complaining about what the owner of this site says ? Maybe you don't belong here. Reread what Jim posted. Then decide if you can play by the rules.

Big government is not our friend. Limited government is. The larger something becomes, in most instances, the more difficult it is to manage.

"This place is starting to look like a chatroom, instead of the great conservative site it was before the election."
It is STILL the greatest conservative site on the net.
The daily threads like The Daily Dose, The Guild, America the Right Way, The USO Canteen, etc
are filled with conservative and patriotic posts and discussions daily.
Not all conservative discussions have to be related to news comments.
That is why Jim and John annouunced they will be adding chat forums.

True words but my understanding is that government with all it's complexities and resposibilities will grow with our society. The key is to limit the growth.
The way it is with all the social programs, (that will never go away)government growth can only be controlled by limiting the formation of new entitlements. The purpose of the tax cut was to remove the funding so that new programs would not evolve. This is the only way.

Organization my dear. If you find it send it on. I'll give this one to you
Don't become like Tyson though, just cause you can fight don't be a bully.
Tonkin you and Clancy is not the only one frustrated concerning Fox. They must be careful to not forget what made them #1. I watch Fox because they are the only one that will show everything concerning President Bush, and at least most of the on-air talent I can listen to without contempt growing.

Thank you for the civil apology.

Nor is it a place where anti establishment rhetoric should be spread.
To paraphrase John Chamberlain, may his soul rest in peace: There is no requirement to be for the establishment when the establishment is headed toward an abyss. When the choice is between freedom and the establishment, so far as I am concerned the establishment's gotta lose.

Not all conservative discussions have to be related to news comments. FR is the web's preeminent breaking news site. it is a conservative site.
did you notice how quickly the breaking news story about the hijacked school bus
became a prayer thread, as well. when you speak, your values show. this group pulls
together. it will tend to be a community in spite of any efforts to make it otherwise.
bravo sierra tend to be outed quickly.
personal value made this country great. it still can and will.

Great job, Jim. It's your house. You make the rules. If one can't play by the rules, there are other sites out there. Just not as great as this one is.
To: BluesDuke
The Afgans are free to do whatever they please for the most part. What kind of freedom do you seek?
Or should I even ask?
To: wirestripper
It is impossible to limit its growth without the people being aware of what's going on. The parties continually try to out-do each other in creating new laws and programs. Need I remind you that they are going to hire 45,000 more government employees as mandated by the airport security law? Do you have any idea about the ancillary costs of this is in addition to the direct payroll? It is staggering!.

Thank you, I was hoping to find a post that put that into words for me, so I didnt have to do it myself. I agree, vanity posts are very popular and without them, I am afraid people would not visit as much as they do.
