I am on a borrowed computer out of town right now so I will make this quick. PRAISE GOD!!!!!!! My boy's hearing is guaranteed back 100%. On behalf of my family and my son and all that were involved in helping with this special procedure I want to say God Bless and Thank You from the bottom of my heart.
We were overwhelmed with e-mails,cards,flowers,prayers,and special anon-donation for the remainder of the balance for this specialist that was not covered under insurance. I learned an incredible lesson today. A sobering one at that. From when he went in at 7:30 am this morning I left it all in God's hands and realized that I love my boy more than anything in the world.
What is the difference than how I felt at 7 am this morning and 7:30? I do not know. But I did know there was a risk of this not working out and or being a problem for the rest of his life. The disease was taken out and surprised the surgeon on how he heard anything at all. I am proud to say I have to have one of the strongest 2 yr old's out there tonight. I know there are children out there who are more sick and hungry. I do not ignore that fact. But what he went through today made him my little hero.
I know I am supposed to be the tough guy and not cry my eyes out but I could not hold back the tears when I saw him being given that liquid anasthetic and 3 mins later he was completely in a zone of where you could see he had no idea who or what was going on.
I am all choked up right now and I just really wanted to come on and thank every single person. You helped make this day possible and I plan on my charity being returned 100 fold for what was made possible for me.Me...the happiest Dad in the world tonight.
God Bless You All,
MFH
Thanks, King. : )
A Mastoido tympanoplasty:
This operation is performed to tackle infection that has affected the mastoid and middle ear cavities or to tackle a dangerous disease called as Cholesteatoma. This is a more radical type of surgery to tackle more aggressive disease. Hence the outcome of hearing impairment in these cases depend upon the damage and destruction wrought by the disease process. Earlier the commencement of treatment better the results. Unfortunately most of these patients would have harbored the disease for a number of years before seeking proper treatment.
