The DC Chapter showed up on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial today to counter a rally of the great unwashed. As the peaceniks promised last week, they managed to get themselves arrested. The Freeper turnout was small, but, as always, the police and the public supported our position. Many lurkers showed up to offer support.
The "peaceful" protestors had a wide variety of speakers, including one gentleman who threatened the president in his speech, and another who made fun of the pretzel incident. Bad taste as always.
Special thanks should go to leadpenny, dave dilegge, and jimmy valentine's brother, for their sane, rational counter-protest to those misguided souls.

The DC Chapter of Free Republic confronted the unwashed commie swine on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial where they spewed their traitorous filth. We were few in number but we and and the patriots that joined us received the support of the people passing by.
Their speakers trashed our Country and its Values including one that threatened W. Several of these swine were busted for childish acts of so called civil disobedience. The following FReepers were present, Names.

I put on my war paint and Dave broke out the bag pipe CD on his boom box.
The assembled permanently out raged seemed to be heavily medicated as the speachifiers couldn't get the crowd of maybe 300 going. The obligatory protest songsters didn't get any response. The final act was a group of drummers from the planet X who showed up to lead the desultory group off to the White House to celebrate President Bush's one year anniversary.
It was at the White House that the civil disobedience arrests were to be made. leadpenny, Dave Dillege, kristinn, tgslt went to observe to proceeding. I'd had enough and called it a day.
