January 20, 2002 -- Accused shoe bomber Richard Reid allegedly sent an e-mail to supporters across Europe in which he revealed his plan to blow up a Paris-to-Miami airliner and die a "martyr in the cause of Islam."

I bet the 72 virgins in heaven are breathing sighs of relief that they don't have to have carnal relations with this fumbling bumbling Jihadist!

I wonder if maybe Reid was less than enthusiastic about blowing himself up. He very clearly went about it in such a way as to facilitate someone stopping him. These messages before the event are one clue. The fact that he tried lighting up his shoe while sitting in among passengers, when he might have moved to an empty row (if there was one) or into the washroom to do it, is another.

LOL. Before they get too relieved, they might wish to consider their next recruit. Doubt if they're going to get Clark Gable in any event. :)
