Some FReepers have nicks that are obvious in their origin, others don't. I've seen several that probably have interesting stories behind them.
I thought it would be cool to see where FReepers get their handles from. If you don't like this topic, DON'T POST HERE! No one forces you to read this. I'm sure other people may be interested. If I'm the only one, let me know so I can crawl away in shame.

Mine's boring, too. My first name is Mary and I'm a secretary. But, actually, now it's called administrative assistant. Longer title, same pay.

When I was born the doctor told my mother that I was a redhead before he told her that I was a girl. Being a redhead has been a big part of my identity for my entire life.
So, when I first needed a screen name I choose redhead. Naturally, the name was already taken. The web portal that I was signing up for suggested that I add a number to the end of my name. But I didn't want to do that so I added the "too" to the end of redhead because it sounds like a number and it actually means also. Thus the name redheadtoo means I am a red head also.
I use the screen name redheadtoo in a varity of web sites. It is very useful in chat rooms because the other chatters can use the diminutive of red to quickly address me.

My name refers to the Ray Bradbury book and movie "Fahrenheit 451". It refers to the lead character Guy Montag, and the block he lives on with his wife, Block 813.

I got mine from Clancy's "The Cardinal in the Kremlin". Even before I knew I was moving to St Louis..

Mine is a reference to a character I made up in a role-playing game once. He was pretty much a demon who was in charge of tormenting people about their poor grammar and spelling. He was the Grammarian, Lord of Typographia and Master of the Typo Demons.
It's also somewhat of a reference to my major in college (English)

In some science fiction stories by Fred Saberhagen, "Goodlife" were human beings who willingly helped the artificial intelligence machines that were attacking men.
