FReeper names explained
My curiousity | Now | Yours truly

Posted on 01/18/2002 5:03:35 PM PST by Come get it

Some FReepers have nicks that are obvious in their origin, others don't. I've seen several that probably have interesting stories behind them.

I thought it would be cool to see where FReepers get their handles from. If you don't like this topic, DON'T POST HERE! No one forces you to read this. I'm sure other people may be interested. If I'm the only one, let me know so I can crawl away in shame.

I used my grandaugher's nickname because I just wasn't clever enough when I signed up to come up with a nifty name.

Today is actually my 5th anniversary of FReeping! It has been such a blessing.

You have a very interesting name Jatana, thanks for the phonetic pronunciation because it's not as simple as "Bob". hahahahahah Not that that's my name because it's not, and I'm not male either! hahahahaha I'm Jen.

My online persona is AntiJen who is like real-life Jen, but more so because she REALLY doesn't care what people think about her. Just don't get her too riled up, because you might encounter the 'evil twin' Anti-Jen, and trust me, you don't want to do that. It would be better if you met Auntie Jen who gets her baby fix by loving on her baby nephews. She's MUCH nicer than Anti-Jen.

It's nice to meet you Jutanuh, and welcome again to FR!!!!!

If you need assistance with the forums, just ask and I'll be glad to help.

Jen

I like your name!

Mine comes from the risks our 56 Declaration of Independence signers took.

At the start of the GWB's first term, Rush discussed the agenda that GWB would have in office. In essence, he said to Republicans and Democrats alike, "Get on the train, or get out of the way - the Agenda Express is rolling through."

My favorite scene is Indiana Jones unceremoniously shooting the guy threatening him with the sword in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

You know, I heard that the original script of that scene had Indy getting into a swordfight, but at the last minute Harrison Ford hurt his wrist or ankle so they improvised. It turned out to be one of the more memorable scenes of the movie.

When creating my screenname, I was enthralled with the idea that Al Gore would be gone on 1/20/2001.

My dad was a boom operator on KC-135s. He retired in 1974. He started out as a B-29 tailgunner, then a BO in KC-97s.

"Well, this young man has had a trying year. What with the litigation, the notoriety, his deportation to Canada and that country's subsequent refusal to take him back. Well, I guess that's more than most 20 year olds could handle"

Skooz was a cat I owned in the 1980s. He had a goofy personality and every -- even those who hated cats -- loved him. He actually answered to his name and came when called.

He died of feline leukemia in 1988.

Henry Lee II (Colonel Richard Henry Lee II) is the father of "Light-Horse Harry" Lee and, thus, the grandfather of General Robert E. Lee. I used to live in a neighborhood in northern Virginia that was part of Henry's plantation in the mid- to late-1700's, and now live in one that was part of the Greensprings Plantation of Governor Berkeley, where Henry and Lucy Grymes Lee were married in 1753.
