You did a fine job, The Lord Jesus bless you, and may He be with Mr. Simon.

I'd vote for Davis over Riordan. Riordan wants a GUN BAN, and said so. Not to mention he backed Klinton, Feinswine, and Davis.

I'd back Simon over all of them.

I'm from Canada but can I join anyway? This Riordan guy really yanks my chain.

Well, since you're Canadian you'll have to fill out an application. But since you're a Freeper, chances are you'll be approved. ;>) Welcome!

It's his in-your-face baby killer stance that bugs me the most. Since Riordan doesn't agree w/a thing I believe in, I figure I might as well support Davis -- at least he's honest about his party affiliation. It will be painful supporting a Dem, but (if Simon doesn't win the primary) I'm willing to make that sacrifice.

Same here if I lived there.

Riordan is actually more left than Davis. Not only that, Davis can to some extent keep the REALLY bad radicals like the Don Peratas, Jack Scotts and Kevin Shelleys in check. Riordan would roll over so fast to prove his 'liberal' colors to them.

Simon deserves to govern a better state, but I will do what I can to get him elected.

I beleive the latest voter registration is about 45% RATS 37% REPUBS and 14% no party. The rest are the very fringe. 38 out of 58 counties voted for W. It might have been even more than that.

It'll be hard for Riordan to win without getting any Republican votes. It should be interesting what kind of a reception he gets at the CA GOP convention in February.

Registration in California is 35% Republican and 45% Democrat. You can't always go by registration numbers because Democrats in the Central Valley tend to be very conservative and vote REpublican, and Republicans in the San Francisco Bay Area are a bunch of liberals.

In addition, Republican vote at a far higher percentage than Democrats, at least in the past. Unfortunately, 1998 and 2000 were bad years for Republicans who stayed home in droves and Democrats voted in higher numbers.

Whether this trend continues is anybody's guess ... I think that a solid conservative candidate who is articulate and motivates people to work for him and vote for him -- like Bill Simon -- will do wonders for increasing Republican turnout.

The counties are overwhelmingly conservative (Republican) by the numbers, but the population base is really in the Los Angeles County and San Francisco County and the two or three counties surrounding them. That's over half the people in the state. Outside of those areas, people vote far more conservative for the most part.

Good to hear it! If all of us pro-lifers came out and voted for Mr. Simon, he would win hands down (I think.)

Let everyone you know know about how wonderful this guy is because he needs our help ... that Mr. Riordan is just horrid, we can't let him win.

I can't vote for either Mr. Riordan or Gray Davis. They are both so bad ... and I can't vote in good conscience for anyone who supports abortion. I guess I'll have to skip that race if Mr. Simon doesn't win the primary.

I'm going to give it my best. I do a lot of politic-talking at church and the upcoming gubernatorial primary race is the first item on the agenda. I will spread the word as far as I can.

You hit the nail on the head ... working our churches. There has GOT to be one hard core active conservative in every church in the state ... we need to take it upon ourselves to put our fears of mixing politics and religion (I don't have any, but others do) and go out and convince our fellow parishoners to vote for Bill Simon.

We have only SEVEN Sundays before the primary. That's not a lot of time ... we need to use each and every one to convince church-goers to VOTE on March 5th and VOTE for Bill Simon, the conservative in the race.

God bless!

>> "If CA has a GOP Governor, CA might be in play for Bush in 2004." <<
Sorry, but Rirodan endorses Democrats not Republicans. Riordan would be a disaster for Bush. <<

Amen! Look at the 2000 election results. How much did Christie Todd Whitman or George Ryan "help" Bush by giving token support to him in their respective states? RINO governors AGREE with the Democratic candidates on everything. The only thing they bring "in play" is the possiblity of reporters to run around the state and bash Bush for not being as liberal as the "tolerant Republican" Governor in the state he's campaigning in... "Gosh, George...that Governor Ryan is SOOOOOOO compassionate for abolishing the death penealty in Illinois...why won't you do that in Texas?" and "Mr. Bush, why won't you reach out to pro-choice woman like Goveror Whitman has??" and consider we could be hearing: "President Bush, your fellow Republican Dick Riordan says your tax cut was dangerous and he was elected governor of the largest state in the country. How do you feel about that"? ?

RINO governors are back-stabbing twits. NO WAY do I want them to "help" Bush in 2004. We already saw their handywork in 2000.
