The body of an Israeli man has been found in a bullet-riddled car in the West Bank.
Palestinian security officials say the body was found in Beit Sahour.
Initial reports say the man, who also carried a foreign passport, had been kidnapped by gunmen.
Earlier, the two largest Palestinian militant factions said they will stick to a truce with Israel despite their accusations that Israel assassinated a West Bank militia leader.
Supporters of Raed Karmi took revenge just hours after his death killing an Israeli soldier and wounding an officer who had left their armoured personnel carrier to question two Palestinians at a checkpoint.
Israel did not confirm or deny involvement in the killing of Karmi, 27, leader of the Al Aqsa Brigades in the West Bank town of Tulkarem.
Karmi had boasted of killing two Tel Aviv restaurant owners and was accused by Israel of having killed a total of nine Israelis. He survived an Israeli missile attack on his car in September.
Karmi's funeral procession wound through the streets of Tulkarem, with mourners carrying his body, wrapped in a Palestinian flag.
Militiamen shot in the air, and one shouted "settlers, beware."
The latest violence undermined US truce efforts, and it is not clear whether Washington mediator Anthony Zinni will return to the region later this week as planned.

Well, that's the old trick here on Free Republic. When someone says something with which you disagree, label him a liberal.
Al Gore does not support a color-blind society. He supports discrimination based on ethnicity and ideology, aka affirmative action for democratic-voting ethnic blocs of voters.
True pluralism means a level playing field for everyone and no government discrimination based on ethnicity, which remains the foundation philosophy of modern-day America in spite of affirmative action.
You bet there is. Palestinians with firearms.
Senior Citizen Murdered By PA Residents While PA Cops Look On (IsraelNN.com) An American born Israeli man, about 70, was murdered by gunfire in PA-controlled Beit Jala today while PA security forces looked on without making any effort to intervene to save the innocent mans life. Eyewitnesses near the checkpoint have already reported observing the PA forces, as they made no effort to react.
It is believed the victim entered the PA area to purchase building supplies for a home he was building in Har Gilo. His lifeless body was found in his car, also exhibiting signs of having endured physical abuse or the like.
During the afternoon hours, PA officials notified the army district coordinating office in Beit Jala, reporting the body of a male Israeli was uncovered. Arrangements were made to transfer the victims body to Israel along with his bullet-ridden vehicle.
At this time, Israeli and PA officers in the DCO (district coordinating office) are continuing to investigate the details of the murder. It has also been learned that Israeli officials received at least one report of from eyewitnesses who saw the male in life-threatening danger. IDF officers immediately notified the PA but it appears absolutely nothing was done to extricate the male from the hands of the terrorists unharmed.
Shaul Goldstein, the head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council, on Monday sent a letter to Major-General Yitzhak Eitan, the armys central commander, warning that by removing the closure on PA areas, Israelis were being placed in immediate life-threatening danger by removing any obstacle from entering the PA areas, as was the case today.
Additional confirmed details will be published as they become available.
Of course, we don't send billions upon billions of dollars to support Algeria and Iraq and their ethnic discrimination. Nor should we. The only justification for holding Israel to a higher standard is that we support them financially and militarily. Otherwise I wouldn't give a rat's patoot.
How are things in Kuwait? Saudi Arabia?
Did the US ever do anything to support those places? Any Americans shed their blood, gave up their health....etc.
You need to see a doctor. Tell him your symptoms are that all you can see is Israel, and even that, very much out of focus.
On another forum, which asked the question "What needs to be done to create peace between Israel and the Palestinians" I found a general consensus which was destroy Israel and give the land back to the Palestinians. I'm still searching for a link to use as a source. It was so many months ago that I'm having trouble finding the right week's topic.
How can you give something "back" to somebody who didn't have it to begin with?
Here we go again. You believe every Leftist writer, every Palestinian story but everything Israel claims is a lie. You tried to pull that with the arms smuggling deal too. There is more to Billy Bob, though. More FR id's than you could shake a stick at. Including the late not lamented chubette Plump & Proud, and the apparently disbarred State Attorney.
And we don't give any money to the PA? How about holding them to a higher standard as well.
It's obvious from the first picture in post #6 that 'Palestinians' who support assassins and radical gun toting thugs are just a small minority. When you put it up against a picture of 'Palestinians' demonstrating for peace........there is a picture of that isn't there? I mean there must be at least one picture of at least one 'Palestinian' speaking out for the majority of peace loving 'Palestinian's' taken in the last 40 years.
Who's got that picture? Somebody here has that picture. What did you do with it?
