So where is the Bush administration in this mess?
Looks like more of Hillary Clinton's nonsense!
Interesting point of view. Just how did you arrive at it?
This bears repeating.
I agree with you that a full investigation is in order.
However, I must disagree with your statement above. If the media find x42 so stinking boring, how come they keep putting his face all over the news? I only wish they found him boring enough to ignore him completely!!!
I am so damned angry with these media outlets. It's just a good thing that I'm nowhere near them. I'd probably end up with a felony conviction for mass murder.
I know, and that's what I meant I wasn't convinced was going to happen. How much it backfires on the Democrats has everything to do with the administration's willingness to release everything, warts and all. If they don't step up to the plate (and much as I hate to say it, Cheney is the weak link here), the Democrats will have a field day, and carry the public's sympathies.
None of us like it, but this is what politics are all about.
It has also taken little Tommy Dashcle off the news also. BUMMER...
Would bet there was ten times as much research, if not more than that, done on here than was accomplished by the alphabet networks, CNN, and FOX! Their investigative reporters could have done the same thing we did if they were not too lazy to type in google search, but then they would have to list enron and some of the democrats which their fingers didn't seem to be able to type!
My mini rant!
ENE will be investigated by the DOJ as well as several congressional committees. Your wish is granted, Mr. Republican.
there seems to be a strong possibility that crimes were committed at Enron, and at Andersen, and that a lot of regular folks like you and me suffered as a result.
Im still waiting for someone, anyone, to tell me what those crimes are. And how much ENE stock did you hold?
So, the focus will be on Bush and Cheney as far as the government ties that Enron had are concerned.
That is the Liberal wet dream. It looks like it isnt going to happen. But keep hoping.
Well, first of all, it means that Cheney has to suck it up and provide the info about Enron's participation in the energy policy. I don't think there's anything there, but every day he resists, terrible damage is done to the President and his administration in the eyes of the public. Full disclosure is the only way to stop unfounded attacks.
Please provide me with a road map that connects the bankruptcy of ENE, and the Administrations energy policy. How one affects the other. What part of the Bush energy policy would have uniquely benefited ENE? As far as I know, the only controversial part of the policy is drilling for oil in ANWAR. Did ENE own ANWAR? What information do you have?
The terrible damage reminds me of the predictions only a week ago that this was going to be bigger than Whitewater. If you are going to parrot the Party Line, please keep up.
I'm laughing my arse off rolling on the floor...(LMAOROTF)...You have put the coming demise of the "left" in just two perfect sentences...thank you!....LMAOROTF!!!!!

Okay, one more time for anyone who didn't get it the first time: It is irrelevant that there was likely no impropriety on the part of the White House. It is the appearance of impropriety in the form of refusing disclosure that will bury the administration. The Democrats and the media will turn sh*t into gold if Cheney and others don't cough up the documents.
Bush/Cheney came in to office vowing to change things. If they make it look like they are covering things up, connected to a scandalous corporate collapse that has captured the people's attention, and connected to one of the more unpopular of the administration's policies (ANWR), there is no telling how bad this could be for the party and the president.
This is politics. You and I both know that the White House should be in the clear. But it's they who will be shooting themselves in the foot if they allow the Democrats and the media to create a scandal where none exists.
Remind me to send a thank you note to Al Gore for inventing the Interenet .... Bwahahahahaha
If I recall .. I believe Enron Top Officials also spent Election night with Gore and Leiberman .. among many other things ... Oh yes .. the Dems are up to their eyes in this mess
One thing that you must remember is that Bush and Cheney like to entrap Democrats in their own words and actions.
In the case of Enron, the Bush administration gave out no favors even though it received large contributions from that company and its executives. However, Enron did receive favors such as Nigerian power contracts, Croatian power deals, and Indian power contracts from the Clinton administration after making contributions to the DNC, Clinton, golfing with Clinton, et al.
The Left-wing media and the Democrats have once again jumped headfirst into their own trap. The more that they make Enron/Andersen out to be some great scandal, the more Democratic favors for Enron will finally become public.
By simply hesitating and pretending to play wounded, Bush and Cheney have suckered the Lefties into a double-time bayonet charge across an empty field laid with Democratic mines.
Imagine, if you will, a single picture being forced to be shown on CNN and CBS of Ken Lay golfing with Bill Clinton while the Nigerian and Indian power contracts were on the table. Consider that Clinton insider (and Clintonian Treasury Secretary) Lloyd Bentson was in bed with Enron, as was Clinton cronies Rubin and (ooops, no need to air everything)...
You see, these Congressional investigations have been demanded by Democrats, so no one can claim that they are a witch hunt when Democrats start falling on their swords due to all of the Clinton connections to Enron coming into the light.
Quite simply the Democrats have taken the bait and it's now too late for them to back off.
Not true. They caught many of the media lies, but not all of them. First of all, the stock was only blocked for a short while, while they changed the companies handling the retirement accounts. Otherwise, anyone could have sold any time this past year. Second, according to an article by Rush Limbaugh posted a little above this one, Enron's boss did NOT sell stock, nor did most of the officers. One officer sold stock, but according to Rush he would have done better if he held onto it and sold it now. I find that a bit hard to believe, but I take it that what Rush said about the big boss hanging onto his stock is probably true.
Why would the Dems lie about this? Because they want to make it look like heartless rich people screwing the working class, with Bush's complicity. None of it is true. Yes, the officers of Enron must have made some terrible mistakes and committed crimes. But like the workers they all got badly hurt in the meltdown.
This is gonna backfire on the Dems in the worse way .. I knew this didn't pass the smell test at first .. and now I'm learning why
Ya think Waxman is sorry he asked the public for help on tips .. lol
