I have been a republican for over 20 years now. I am conservative in my beliefs. I am a construction electrician and a member of a union. I catch hell every election from people I work with over the way I vote.
I believe that abortion is wrong. I believe that special intrests are wrong. I believe that owning firearms is our constitutional right. I believe that perversion is wrong (homosexual rights).I believe in God and that this country was founded on a belief in God. I was in the military for 4 years and would sign up again if I I could be of use to my country. But... I believe Rush Limbaugh is a rich guy who is only out for the rich.I believe he was a complete failure for most of his life. I believe he would still be a failure if not for the clintons, and I believe he is a hypocrite.
Now, you can flame me if you like but Ill bet you if anything drastic ever happens to America Limbaugh would be one of the the first ones out, on a plane to some other country.
Flame away.

How many responses claiming you are wrong do you have to get to receive your diploma from the Democratic Seminar on Attacking Rush Limbaugh?
To: Sparkvark

Now, you can flame me if you like No flames because I recognize that, with as much as you have learned correctly, you still have a way to go. We can wait.

Oh, B.S. What I said has absolutely nothing to do with "class envy" and that's the same type of knee-jerk response I would expect from a socialist. Get smart.

In Rushes defense of Lay, I have to agree. He was only showing that Lay was a victim of the company demise as well. Some might say he deserved it. I will wait for the results of the investigation to see if he caused it or there was a sequence of events at fault.
I think I understand why sparky is ticked. Those union electricians believe every company they work for is screwing them. They cry all the way to the bank every friday. I know. I was one.
If Rush made any pro-business statements they would not be well recieved by the union.

LOL - Guess I spoke too soon.

I'm relatively new here myself. But I have been here long enough to have read that, when you start a thread like this, you're supposed to stick around and defend it -- not run away.

...he was a complete failure for most of his life. I'd say that here you're describing 98% of humanity. Is success in business necessarily a virtue? Is failure necessarily a vice? In fact, I would submit it's those who fall off the wagon, get up and dust themselves off, and jump right back on who are deserving of our greatest admiration.

Rush openly admitted he failed in a number of things he did early in life. But he had and has a passion for what he envisioned. Which is what he is doing now. If Rush is for rich people, then he is for everybody. Poor people don't hire or start new businesses. If rich people pay lower taxes, everybody will pay lower taxes. Having more of our own money gives everybody the chance to invest and become richer.

No need to be defensive, and expect to be "flamed." You have stated your opinion, and done so by creating this thread. We need more FR's to do the same.
Rush Limbaugh, in my humble, but ALWAYS correct opinion, became a millionaire when more people wanted to listen to him than to other talk show hosts. The "why" part of the equation is as varied as the interests of the listeners, as revealed in the various comments on your thread.
For me it was the hope of the opportunity to have a dialog with someone in "the media." Few have been able to match the rapport that callers quickly establish with Rush.
I, for one wish they would, as we need lots more millionaires in America.

I first heard Rush in 1989. I was a regular listener for many years after that. Aside from November/December 2000, during the Florida mess, I have not listened to him regularly in a while, only occasionally and never for any sustained period of time. Not because I think he has changed, or is for the fat cats. I'm still pretty much in tune with him philosophically, don't have any disagreements with him at all there. The reason I've stopped listening regularly is that I simply have grown weary of his radio shtick. I love his opinions, I love the fact that for years now, he's given conservatives a voice that they never used to have, reflecting and providing confirmation for their ideas. He's an all-time giant of the conservative movement. I love and respect the guy. I've just gotten tired of listening to him on the radio. Flame away here as well.

"He is rich for the rich".. What is it then besides class envy?

Is that an after event photo of the winner of the Texas Chili Cookoff?

The point of this post is just what I said. The reason I posted it is that I just read a post on this forum telling everyone what a great guy Limbaugh is. Sorry, I dont buy that. Ive been to the du board (after hearing about it here) and it amazes me how much alike both boards are. If I said something about Clinton there I would get the same type of responce. No thought just politics.

You're not worth the flint and fuel to flame.
